The President has spent Christmas at Camp David as has become his tradition tomorrow he will travel to his Ranch in Crawford to spend a few days there before returning to the White House
As there are no new photos today I thought I would do a special on White House decorations since 2001.
Each year the White House is deorated beatitfully for the festive season. This year sees the 6th one since George W Bush has been President.
Today lets look at each year and the wonderful photos and themes portrayed - enjoy.
Probably the most difficult one was 2001 when America was still in shock after 9/11 for this reason I have chosen a photo from that year as today's photo of the Day
Placed in the State Dinning Room, the gingerbread house is a replica of the White House of 1800 when John Adams became the first Presidential resident. Original floor plans were used, but history was fudged a little to allow President Bush's pets Spot, Barney and India frolic on the grounds. Constructed from more than 80 pounds of gingerbread, 30 pounds of chocolate and 20 pounds of marzipan, the sweet home took more than three weeks to build.
LOL!
Yup FR is a great 2nd wind supplier!
Been there/here done that for me too!
Oddly enough I saw the Christmas Day game, between the Iggles and Boys over here in Denmark on one of the Danish TV stations. NBC coverage with Danish commentary, so I watched the game on mute. It was sorta live, so the game was at 11:00p.m. here.
The halftime show was pretty good too. NFL cheerleaders dancing in slow-mo. The Danes got it goin' on over here! LOL
The game sucked, but the halftime show was worth it.
Helllllllloo BSF!!!
Did you enjoy your trip??? That is so neat that you were in Copenhagen..(this is a girl that has been in Texas and Colorado, period)...
Yeah...the game was a bummer...I hope that not too many of the people there got those tickets as Christmas presents...ugh.
Still enjoying my trip. I'm still here in Denmark. Got plenty of pictures from the trip. Hoping to have a photo album set up online once I get settled back home in a couple weeks. :) I'll have to check, but I think my flight is January 9th, and will be back at home around the 10th or 11th.
I was pretty upset over the Eagles loss, according to their standings on the Danish TV, the Boys are now in search of a Wild Card playoff game.
Yes...I am listening to local sports talk radio (Rush on vacation)...and they say that the Cowboys need to beat Detroit this weekend...and the Eagles need to lose their game...which I think is Atlanta.
If both of those things happen..the Boyz will be a div. winner...but, if Eagles win...the Boyz will be a Wild-card, more than likely playing in Seattle the next week.
At least that is the most common scenario discussed. If it changes, I will post on this thread to you...because you won't be back before the first playoff week.
LOL -- yes, I'm afraid we have to. :)
AHA! Snuck a post in, huh? LOL -- I just finished answering your FR mail.
BSF is such a stinker. I answered his FR mail before I checked my pings. :)
LOL...just discussing disgusting Cowboy football...YOU don't have to worry, your team is GREAT!!
BTW...my itty bitty one is here, of course...but after all the toys she got for Christmas, she has been playing with a carboard box all day!!! Pretty typical, eh?
LOL -- yep, cardboard boxes are always a hit --- as are sheets stretched over 2 chairs for a fort of sorts.
aw yes...that will be my fall back "game" for when she is really bored with her toys and cardboard boxes!! LOL
Happy New Year to yah!!!
LOL
I think it works out then, as I wasn't told :-D
Exactly so... you sleuthed and I had to be told...LOL.
Color me HAPPY now.
:-) Me too
Now, if they'll stay happy, we have it covered.
Grin...a sad commentary on the 'Boys, though. BTW, Owens has been flapping his gums again, arrogant SOB that he is.
I think two things are responsible for the Cowboys swan dive. The first is the lost of Greg Ellis for the season, which has basically caused their defensive line to collapse. The second was the mouthing off Owens did just before the New Orleans game in which he thoroughly disrespected Parcells and got away with it. I think team cohesiveness and discipline has taken a dive since then.
GOOD to see you enjoying yourself here. I saw a couple of your "spot on" posts, and thought "she IS enjoying her vacation." :)
