FYI. Has not spoken. No indications if he is on or off a respirator.

If nothing else maybe just a little bit this remind someone (not the MSM tho) that there is no supermajority giving the dems a huge mandate.

"Should Johnson's seat become vacant, South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds, a Republican, could replace him with a Republican."

Well, the demonrats certainly won't be bound by ethics, common sense, or even basic human decency in their efforts to prevent that.

Yeah, keep up the Weekend at Bernie's front there Dems. Medical experts say they would not be at all comfortable claiming there is progress in his condition if 2 weeks on they're still having to keep him comatose.

If this link...

Sen. Tim Johnson remains in critical condition

...is from the same AP report, then the paper above left out a couple of interesting paragraphs. See the last two paragraphs from the above link.

It takes a long time to get the animatronics just right.

If Dirty Hairy Reed has to pedal the bike that powers the little generator that keeps Johnson's respirator working, Johnson will be a Senator for the next two years. Even if the summer squash in my garden has more brain activity, Johnson is their man.

That said, I hope he recovers to a level where he is happy with his quality of life.

FYI. Has not spoken. No indications if he is on or off a respirator.

His condition may be "improving", but it is still classified as critical.

The poor man and his family, such a difficult time. But the Dems look like vultures trying to push for a full, speedy recovery. It ain't gonna happen.

If Johnson doesn't show up on Jan. 3, the Demos still organize with a 50-49 vote.

This sounds like March at the earliest for his return, maybe even the summer.

No indications if he is on or off a respirator.

He must be still intubated, as if he was extubated it would have been heralded as evidence of his remarkable Dem majority protecting recovery.

At some point, the interests of the people of SD would best be served by appointing at least an interim successor, to hold the position and vote, either until the end of the term, or until the current Senator recovers.

So far, the lights are on but we don't know if anybody's home.

Too important for us little folk to be told, I guess.
