"Jesse Jackson: Saddam Hussein was an evil man, but he was also our ally" Sure he was Jackson you jack@ss. Thats why we took him down and him face his people for his crimes against them. These leftist @sses are preaching that we should "talk" to our enemies, but when we do that, they yurn around call them our "allies" in a lame attempts to score political points when we try establish diplomatic relations and send someone to shake his hand.
That's exactly what Jack@ss is referring to, the pic of Rumsfeld shaking his hand when we were trying to establish diplomatic ties back in '83 or so.

Jesse should keep his lips zipped (among other things). What a has been.

It also possibly was a good strategy at one point. Does Jesse realize Iran was viewed as a bigger threat at the time?

Jesse Jackson: Saddam Hussein was an evil man, but he was also our ally We always knew jj was an enemy of the United States. Here he is admitting saddam was evil and considering him our ally. Speak for yourself.

Too bad Jesse Jackson wasn't on staff in the Iraqi government when Saddam seized power. You can bet he would have been one of the first ones Saddam shot for treason.
It just amazes me how democrats continuously get away with their treasonous acts against this country. You'd think the people would at least stop reelecting them. Truly amazing.

Jesse Jackson: Saddam Hussein was an evil man, but he was also our ally Well for a while in the 1980's he was.
To: Non-Sequitur
"Well for a while in the 1980's he was."
Not truly, he was the enemy of our enemy. The common enemy being radical islam in Iran.
To: Saint Reagan
Jesse once had a lover, before she sued him.

If I'm not mistaken, Ronaldus Magnus cut off all aid and assistance after one of Saddam's MiGs put an Exocet into the USS Stark in 86-87(?).

Reminds me of the Cosby show episode where he tells his son, "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out". A lesson to be learned here.

Thank you for the correction. It has been 20 years, and the brain gets a little fuzzy on the details... ;^)

If I'm not mistaken, Ronaldus Magnus cut off all aid and assistance after one of Saddam's MiGs put an Exocet into the USS Stark in 86-87(?). I'm pretty sure you're right. He was also an unwilling ally after that, too. I always wondered why we quit the Kuwait war within spitting distance of Baghdad. Then I heard that Bush (#1) thought it was more prudent to keep him in power and let him keep Iran in line than it was for us to do it. Probably seemed like a good idea at the time.
