The President's plane is arriving at Andrews Air Force Base at this moment.
LOL --- the arguments were never over money. As I recall, they were stupid things such as who hit the longest homerun when they were boys. The sort of silliness that only arises after a lot of alcohol has been consumed. The toasts to the departed were always my favorite part.

Funny call on C-SPAN. A lady remembers asking him for a photo with her and he said, "Sure, but I have to go to the bathroom first!"
Now reminiscing on ABC how he married Betty the day after election day...
You're right, Howlin, dark and cold that night when the plane arrived.
Yes...he had some great men around him.
I didn't realize until today that his election in 1976 was closer than 2004, and darn near as close as 2000.
I was raising my kiddos in the 70's and 80's..and did not pay attention as much as I should have to politics.
A LOT of what I have heard about Pres. Ford is new to me.
Our generation will have to be the grown ups...
I'm not convinced we have enough to carry it off. But I'm praying we do, there's so much that will be riding on their shoulders.

ABC is doing a decent job here..I just switched from Fox. Showing clips of Ford speaking and describing what a disturbed country he had to lead..
I think the timing of those remarks are in extremely poor taste, Bob Woodward in particular... but also Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough, etc.
