Taxi Driving in Seattle--Even "Moderate" Muslims hate Jews

Yesterday afternoon, after wrapping up our vacation with a couple of pleasant hours in the Elliot Bay Book Company, Sheryl, Madeleine and I started back to our hotel to pick up our bags and head home to LA. We were with our friend and my Pajamas colleague Gerard. He proposed we take a cab; he would drop us by the hotel before continuing to his home.

We found one quickly. It was driven by an African guy. We had to instruct him about the location of our hotel; it was new. In the course of this I asked him where he was from. Kenya, he said. But then quickly added he was Somali. Many Somalians live in Kenya.

Ah, Somalia. Immediately the three adults in the car perked up. We acknowledged we knew there was big trouble in that country, the attack from Ethiopia on the ICU, etc. To our surprise, our driver immediately launched into a vitriolic attack on Al Qaeda. They were evil violent men, hijacking Islam across the globe. He had details of their infiltration of Somalia from a phone call he had made the previous night, how they were using Saudi money, etc. Thousands of people were being murdered by these Wahhabis for no reason. He was obviously following the situation closely. Al Qaeda was a danger to all mankind, he said.

It was a refreshing to hear this view from a Moslem taxi driver in Seattle. He was obviously pleased that we recognized the travails of his people too. So he continued with his explication of what was behind this terrible situation - how the Moslem religion could have been taken over by these violent forces. Someone was behind the rise of this Saudi Wahhabism . The answer, he said, was Israel. It was all an Israeli plot. They were behind the Wahhabis.

Suddenly our hearts sank. How could a man who seemed so reasonable, so knowledgeable, say something so obviously crazy?

Just then we were at our hotel. Sheryl and I left the cab, stunned. I phoned Gerard from the airport. What had the man said on the way to his place? Gerard - wisely - had let him continue. There was no point in fighting with a man like that. Better to learn how his mind worked. Gerard simply inquired why the Israelis would want to back Al Qaeda when Al Qaeda was sworn to destroy Israel. The man replied by talking about his childhood, his Islamic education. He had learned about the Jews from the Koran. That was the truth, of course.

The frightening scenario will be the appearance of more Keith Ellisons to represent these people, and our inabililty to do anything about it.

One of these days, we will wake up and remember that we CAN do something about it. It is within the power of the People of the USA to tell their government Cease and Desist.

I would certainly hope so. However, after seeing Americans of the vagina-'n'-estrogen variety responding to 9/11 by donning head scarves to "show their solidarity with their sisters of cover" (ie, to demonstrate to their own satisfaction their moral superiority over the rest of us neanderthalxenophobicracistredneckredstatesexisthomophobiclookist
types ) I take NOTHING for granted when it comes to those whom I'm forced to claim as my fellow countrymen and -women. Self-hatred, a belief in "white guilt" and the concomitant belief in the moral superiority of third worlders, and fashionable left/liberal college indoctrination in general has claimed too many minds for reactions to be predicted over even a suitcase nuke destroying an entire American city . The she dogs did their 'head scarf' stunt in September of 2001-only a week or two after the attacks!

I've met many democrats that think most taxes come from republicans.. and government running our lives is because of republicans.. Many/most of them.. over many years..

I used to think being democrat was mere stupidity.. but its more like a logical disease.. or a disease of logic..

Last year while sitting at a table at a business fair, a black man came up and said something to me in Arabic. I apologized and told him that I did not understand him. I assumed, I told him, that he was asking about the insurance plans we were offering at the fair. His reply dumbfounded me:

True, although it seems that very few Muslims in particular are capable of logic. Perhaps being 'Muslim' and 'logical' both would create too many cognitive dissonances, so they simply don't exist. Like being both 'logical' and 'socialist', it is impossible.

When Americans start shooting up El Al counters and Jewish Centers and bombing Jewish discos and supermarkets, then your inane comment might have some merit. Until then your words only brand you as a Muslim terrorist apologist and supporter.

My friends, its stuff like this that makes me glad I'm old.

I really wouldn't want to grow up in an America that I am afraid is headed our way.

The problem is that here we are all preaching to the choir.

The pastor is out to lunch, the congregation is watching Oprah, and the church is empty.

Bear in mind that many seemingly reasonable people in the US didn't bat an eye when Kennedy claimed oil men in Texas cooked up the idea for the war in Iraq, or that many otherwise normal people believe the US government knew of the 9/11 attack in advance, or that Jimmy Carter and Michael Moore were honored guests at the last Democratic Presidential nomination.

Obviously, much of the Muslim world is stuck on stupid with a monomania about the Jewish boogie man. It's become a poison for them that precludes rational analysis of events, as this story clearly demonstrates. It seems highly unlikely that the all powerful Jews control the Wahhabbi Sect of the Muslim religion. But who knows, maybe this wacky Somali is on to something. Is the Pope Jewish? Does the the Dali Lama eat kosher food? And what about the Jewish conspiracy to control comedy?

There in lies the problem.

In the USA, ALL children (including Muhammadans') should by law HAVE to attend the local public schools. If the Muhammadans want to educate their children in their gated (and armed) community, then they can do that in after-school programs.

I know the US School System is not perfect and is slanted toward the left, but it's a whole lot better than teaching a child solely from the Koran.

If the Muhammadans balk, a compromise - their "mosque-school" has to meet the minimum State requirements -- which means using similar text books, taking similar tests, and hiring non-Muhammadan teachers -- else they would be considered racist and separatist.

If we want to win the hearts of Muhammadanism, we must educate the children the good old-fashioned American way.
