The Marxism Nightmare Spreads to the U.S.! By Antonio Sosa | Friday, November 14th, 2008 at 11:54 am In 2006, when Ecuadorians were electing a new president, Venezuelans such as Alejandro Peña Esclusa warned Ecuadorians that the young and charismatic Rafael Correa would use democratic institutions to impose “socialismo del siglo XXI” (Marxism) in Ecuador just like Hugo Chavez had done in Venezuela. (Reference — Carta abierta al pueblo ecuatoriano) How did Peña Esclusa know that Marxism would be imposed in Ecuador? Because the basic elements of Chavez’s campaign (lies, manipulation, intimidation, fraud) were identical to those of Correa’s campaign. Even...

Obama, meanwhile, was in Colorado Wednesday speaking about the importance of volunteerism and national service. Obama has proposed expanding government funded national service programs like Americorps inside the United States, as well as a plan to employ military veterans in the rapidly expanding field of renewable energy. Obama also spoke about how his service programs would have an impact overseas. "And we are going to grow our foreign service, open consulates that have been shuttered and double the size of the Peace Corps by 2011 to renew our diplomacy," said Obama. "We cannot to continue to rely only on our...

U.S. company: Blackwater Flight 61 crash lawsuit governed by Islamic law To defend itself against a lawsuit by the widows of three American soldiers who died on one of its planes in Afghanistan, a sister company of the private military firm Blackwater has asked a federal court to decide the case using the Islamic law known as Shari’a. The lawsuit “is governed by the law of Afghanistan,” Presidential Airways argued in a Florida federal court. “Afghan law is largely religion-based and evidences a strong concern for ensuring moral responsibility, and deterring violations of obligations within its borders.”.......(News Observer)

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia: In a precedent-setting case, a man was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison for lying to authorities about his participation in a terror training camp in Pakistan after prosecutors successfully argued that his lies obstructed a wide-ranging terrorism investigation. Under normal sentencing guidelines, Sabri Benkahla, 32, would have received at most a three-year term for his convictions earlier this year on charges of lying to a grand jury, obstruction of justice and making a false statement. But for the first time, prosecutors were able to obtain a stiffer sentence by arguing that Benkahla's lies effectively promoted terrorism....

A teenager was charged with felony hate crimes yesterday, a day after he forced a 15-year-old Sikh schoolmate into a boys’ bathroom in Queens, tore off his turban and sheared his hair, the authorities said. According to the Queens district attorney, Richard A. Brown, the teenager, Umair Ahmed, 17, walked up to the Sikh, Vacher Harpal, in a hallway at Newtown High School in Elmhurst shortly after noon on Thursday and said, “I have to cut your hair.” Mr. Ahmed was holding a pair of scissors, Mr. Brown said. Vacher replied: “For what? It is against my religion,” according to...

Rome, 3 April (AKI) - Prosecutors in the northern Italian city of Turin were scheduled to start investigating on Tuesday footage of an imam at the local Cottolengo mosque, Mohammed Kohalia, calling on Muslims to hate Christians and Jews and praying for their death. "The Prophet has said that the extremists [Jews and Christians] will be destroyed," the cleric is heard as saying in footage secretly filmed by a journalist. "Allah should kill the polytheists." Kohalia has denied making those statements. The DVD portraying Kohaila's sermon was filmed with a hidden camera by a faithful attending the prayers on behalf...

Yesterday afternoon, after wrapping up our vacation with a couple of pleasant hours in the Elliot Bay Book Company, Sheryl, Madeleine and I started back to our hotel to pick up our bags and head home to LA. We were with our friend and my Pajamas colleague Gerard. He proposed we take a cab; he would drop us by the hotel before continuing to his home. We found one quickly. It was driven by an African guy. We had to instruct him about the location of our hotel; it was new. In the course of this I asked him where...

Kismayo - Islamic religious police on Tuesday arrested 22 people for smoking in the Somali port of Kismayo, where they will be flogged if found guilty of violating a new tobacco ban, officials said. Those detained were nabbed just days after local Islamist officials announced a total ban on the use of tobacco in the key southern port, in a new sign of their increasingly strict application of Sharia law. "We started raids against tobacco users and we have arrested 22 people so far," Kismayo police deputy chief Mohmaed Abdulkadir Jibril told reporters here, about 500km south of the capital...

The Fascists Among UsOctober 17th, 2006 It’s no secret that hurling names about is as common in the political world as it is in a grammar school playground. One oft-used pejorative is “fascist,” which, along with racist, sexist, homophobe and others, tends to be least understood by those who utter it most. And because these damning terms are used wantonly, more to discredit than describe, they tend to be misapplied. Then, soon, calling someone a fascist becomes akin to calling him a snake: more a vague impugnment of character then a characterization of methods and goals. Rhetoric aside, however,...

A cop I spoke to said there were about 35,000 people there which exceed the 15-20 thousand projected number. Two other groups were permitted to rally at Dag Hammerskold Plaza today, one being the Congo and the other a ‘pro middle east’ group [cop’s words]. He said only about 100 of the ‘pro middle...

Twelve girls sat in rows at the front of the community room in Silver Spring's Muslim Community Center, calming their nerves with giggles and girl talk. In their sweaty hands, they held prepared speeches. On their heads, they wore scarves in a rainbow of colors: pink, brown, gold, white and lavender. The seventh- and eighth-graders were competing in a debate on this question: Is a segregated, all-Islamic upbringing key to protecting your Muslim identity? Eight of the dozen argued yes, using variants of the theme offered by Fatimah Waseem. Young Muslims "join with the non-Muslims, copy them and look up...

The masked man who firebombed an Orthodox Jewish school in Outremont on the weekend initially aimed his burning Molotov cocktail at the window of a classroom occupied only 20 minutes earlier by at least 12 teenage boys, surveillance tapes show. The man, who is believed by police to be in his 20s, remains at large. The tapes show 12 religious-school students who spent Friday evening in the classroom leaving along the school's front sidewalk between 11:40 p.m. and 11:42 p.m. As many as 20 students - age 14 to 16 - usually attend the regular Sabbath evening dinner and get-together...

Abe Lincoln once posited an interesting conundrum: Q. If you call a tail a leg, how many legs has a dog? A. Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn’t make it a leg! It apears that every few months or so a five-legged dog decides to run amok in our country and kill people - often of Jewish extraction - prompting the media to do its best to withhold certain details which might cause the public to jump to certain wildly unreasonable conclusions. Case in point: yesterday a 29 year old man in San Fransisco was arrested on 14 counts...

17 August 2006, 11:26Holocaust caricature exhibition will provoke Islamophobia - Russian human rights activists Moscow, August 17, Interfax - Russian human rights organizations have stated that the Holocaust caricature exhibition in Tehran will entail an upsurge of Islamophobia and called on the Iranian authorities to close it down. In an appeal to the Iranian embassy and the UN office in Moscow, they called ‘to listen to the public voice and to close down the exhibition in order to prevent unrest throughout the world, to prevent the prerequisites for Islamophobia’. ‘The caricatures mocking the Holocaust tragedy amounts to jeering at the...

THERE’S NOTHING I like more than a Jewish joke. It’s the anti-Jewish ones I’m not so keen on. Wandering through the streets of Edinburgh during the world’s largest arts festival, you never know what sight or sound you will be bombarded with next. Half-naked men on 6ft stilts meander by, half-naked girls rush to sell you their show, troops of Japanese acrobats tumble past. But I wasn’t prepared for the verbal assault I got when I wandered into a comedy gig this week. There have always been anti- Semitic jokes. But you know times are changing when you go along...

In the cinematic classic Wedding Crashers, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson blend seamlessly into nuptial bashes to score free crab cakes and to score with love-struck bridesmaids. When it comes to protest-crashing, the skilled, already well-known are the sign-wielding counter-demonstrators like the Protest Warriors scoring points with the Right. But what, I wondered, would it be like to slip into a lefty demonstration under the radar, à la Vaughn and Wilson, to see the lefties in their natural habitat, un-freaked by lingering righties? The only thing that made me hesitate before giving it a try was the fear that if...

An exhibition of more than 200 cartoons about the Holocaust opened Monday as Iran's response to last year's Muslim outrage over a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad in a Danish newspaper. The display, showing 204 entries from Iran and abroad, was strongly influenced by the views of Iran's hard-line president, Mahoud Ahmadinejad, who drew widespread condemnation last year for calling the Holocaust a "myth" and saying Israel should be destroyed.

(Filed: 14/08/2006) A five-year-old girl's passport application was rejected because her photograph showed her bare shoulders. Hannah Edwards's mother, Jane, was told that the exposed skin might be considered offensive in a Muslim country. The photograph was taken at a photo-booth at a local post office for a family trip to the south of France. Because of the way the camera was set up, the picture came out showing Hannah's shoulders. The family had it signed and presented it at a post office with the completed form but were told that it would not be accepted by the Passport Office....

REGARDING MUSLIM GUNMAN SHOOTING UP SEATTLE JEWISH CENTER, KILLING ONE WOMAN AND WOUNDING FIVE OTHERS. Another valient warrior of Islam! Attacking unarmed American women. But worse than the act of terrorism itself is how the FBI and media tried to downplay the gunman's Muslim background, and even his shouted rants against Israel and Jews. BEGIN: Once again, the media and federal officials have tried to cover up or downplay a Muslim terrorist attack in the United States. I’m referring to the Muslim who forced his way into a Jewish center in Seattle on Friday and shot six women, killing one...

Open Anti-Semitism in San Francisco by Lee Kaplan Jul 06, '06 / 10 Tammuz 5766 Although I'd written about it many times, and read about it in second-hand reports, I never actually heard it said with my own two ears. After all, this was America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, where religious intolerance might exist in closed circles, but which was generally not openly voiced in public except by fringe hate groups like the Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan. Palestinian supporters in America team up with those groups against Jews, but don't like...

Joyce Dopkeen/The New York Times Kimberly Lane, a teacher at Heritage High School, expressed dismay after the arrest. At Heritage High School in East Harlem, where the student idiom is hip-hop and salsa, the 16-year-old Guinean girl stood out, but not just because she wore Islamic dress. She was so well liked that when she ran for student body president, she came in second to one of her best friends - the Christian daughter of the president of the parent-teacher association, Deleen P. Carr. Now Ms. Carr, a speech pathologist who calls herself "a typical American citizen," is as outraged...

11/5/04 Dear Friends, Ok, it sucks. Really sucks. But before you go and cash it all in, let's, in the words of Monty Python, 'always look on the bright side of life!' There IS some good news from Tuesday's election. Here are 17 reasons not to slit your wrists: 1. It is against the law for George W. Bush to run for president again. 2. Bush's victory was the NARROWEST win for a sitting president since Woodrow Wilson in 1916. 3. The only age group in which the majority voted for Kerry was young adults (Kerry: 54%, Bush: 44%), proving...
