A Complex Greeting from John and Teresa "Heinz" Kerry

Nothing is ever simple when it comes to John Kerry.
The senator from Massachusetts and his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, sent out 75,000 Christmas cards with pictures of trees at each season. The Kerrys gushed over their "gratitude for the beauty of these trees and the life they represent."
But it didn't end there.
The card came in an odd-looking envelope, one of those with a return-mail flap and instructions to send it to . . . well, to a recycling company, so "it can be made into new carpet tile."
Carpet tile?
We want a "world without waste . . . where every product either returns safely to the soil or becomes a new product."

The Christmas Card came with a To Do List...
"1. Remove this panel and insert it along with the card into the envelope. 2. Expose adhesive strip and fold the flap over to seal the envelope. 3. Drop this mailer into any U.S. mailbox." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/03/AR2007010301545_2.html

Okay, why send the card out in the first place? It seems like the only purpose of sending it was to have it recycled.

What the heck is wrong with tossing the card and envelope in the regular paper-recycling pile after New Years?
Makes you wonder if he's got a kickback from the Carpet Tile folks.
Kerry is just plain weird.

How much fuel is burned to mail this card to a recycling facility? How much ketchup has to be consumed in order to make enough money to mail this card to a recycling facility?
Compare this to the microscopic environmental benefit of recycling the card.
This is just stupid enviro-weenie posturing.

Don't forget who paid for those cards to be sent. At .39 each postage, Kerry's franking privileges for those cards cost the taxpayers around $30K.

Typical libs, never thinking about unintended consequences. Now people are going to waste gasoline, add to evil global warming, time, possibly plow into a line of shoppers at the mall because they're in a hurry to do jfk's bidding, or they leave the stove on and burn down the house.... any number of things could go wrong just because jfk just can't say "Merry Christmas" and be done with it

Nature worship through the environmental movement.
It's by design these pagans fasten themselves like leeches to Christian holidays. It's a recruitment technique.

Let's see... 75,000 x $0.39 = $29,250 for original mail-out. Another $29,250 for return re-mail. Estimated cost per greeting card $0.25 each x 75,000 = $18,750. Total cost of greeting equals $77,250.

Directions so simple, even a U.S. Soldier in Iraq could do it...
1. Remove this panel and insert it along with the card into the envelope. Soldiers, ask your Sergeant for training if needed.
2. Expose adhesive strip and fold the flap over to seal the envelope. Soldiers, ask a buddy if you get confused.
3. Drop this mailer into any U.S. mailbox. Soldiers, do not put these into Iraqi mailboxes. If you'd studied in school, you wouldn't even be able to find an Iraqi mailbox.

I'm guessing the chance of the Kerrys ever living somplace that was floored with 'carpet tile'

The Kerrys probably get to tax deduct these cards even though we pay for them or atleast postage and recycling.
To: MinuteGal
It's by design these pagans fasten themselves like leeches to Christian holidays. It's a recruitment technique.Well, to be technically accurate (and I am a Christian, by the way), Christmas was grafted onto a pagan holiday to make it more accessible, hence the tree.
I still think Kerry's card was sad and funny at the same time, though.

I'll bet that every room Kerry has is carpeted with baby seal skins.
It still seems like paper carpet would look and feel nasty and be totally unwashable.
