Surprise: Andrea Accuses Pelosi of 'Unseemly, Imperial' Celebrations

Has that blizzard in the Plains blown all the way into Hades? On the day of Nancy Pelosi's congressional coronation, a rhetorical shot was taken at her from an unexpected quarter, that of Andrea Mitchell.
Interviewing veteran Dem congressman John Dingell of Michigan on MSNBC this morning, Mitchell asked:
"Are you happy with this big celebration that Nancy Pelosi has planned for herself? Is it a bit unseemly to have Stevie Wonder and Tony Bennett and the dinners and the lunches and the brunches and the trip to Baltimore to rename the street in honor of her. Isn't this a little bit too imperial?"
View video here.Dingell professed that it wasn't. But much more interesting was Mitchell having taken the shot in the first place. Some might say that it was just Andrea looking out for the Dems' best interests, but even if well-intentioned advice, it was certainly offered in the most public of forums.

No one in government enjoys privilege, money and power than a Democrat in the Congress.
Fact.

Stevie Wonder is such an aggressive Democrat. He doesn't make a ton of public political statements that I'm aware of, but he's a big and consistent donor of money, time and performances.
Not surprised that Pelosi has glommed onto him for starpower.
Fun Wonder fact: not only is he blind, he can't smell or taste either.

Perhaps she got direct orders to pooh-pooh from you know who.

Nancy Pelosi is the new President of the United States. The sooner we acknowledge that the better. Otherwise, she'll continue to sabotage GW's administration, and blame all of the bad things that happen on him. If we recognize her as the Imperial President, then she can't afford to sabotage, because she'll get the blame.

Perhaps she got direct orders to pooh-pooh from you know who. That wouldn't surprise me at all. Don't forget Mitchell's backtracking on her statement that "everybody knew" that Joe Wilson's wife worked at CIA. She's as liberal as they come.

It reminds me of what
Mo Dowd told
Barack Obama when he privately complained to her that the (liberal) press was talking too much about his ears. She said "we're trying to toughen you up." When the liberal press pushes back on liberal politicians, seemingly adversarially rather than advocatingly, there is still an element of collusion.
In my opinion, Andrea Mitchell is one particularly not clever about hiding her bias. Maybe not particularly clever, period. Maybe she thought she was doing a good job of adversarial reporting, being fair by criticizing Democrats. But this doesn't smell orchestrated. I suspect she'll be privately castigated by the left wing machine.

Notice the tone of Andrea Mitchell's voice. That's pretty telling as well. It's not just what she said, but how she said it. She even sounds disgusted by Pelosi's antics.

Apparently, he is incapable of detecting corruption and lack of character, as well.
