Tonight’s show was, in a word, explosive. The topic of the evening was the Iron Triangle Case: Three members of the famed 101st Airborne Division, charged with premeditated murder in the deaths of three insurgents. The soldiers, including one Ranger with a list of accomplishments a mile long, face the death penalty if convicted.
George Reilly, an advocate for accused troops and their families, was my guest. I also had Melanie Dianiska, mother of accused Army soldier PFC Corey Clagett, as well as Ron Bentley and Joy Oakes, family members of accused Ranger SSG Raymond Girouard.
This is a must, must listen show. Nowhere else in the media will you find out that:
- The government’s star witness, SPC Bradley Mason, was not even present during the deaths of the Iraqis,
- He is receiving immunity for having thousands of child pornography photos on his computer, and
- He stated in open court, under oath, that he would like to have sex with a 9-year-old girl in Thailand.
- He went to the Army several times begging to be sent home from Iraq, even claiming that he was crazy.
- He had several disciplinary issues, three of which would have been Article 32s had Girouard not intervened on his behalf.
Meanwhile, their second “witness,” who later recanted and admitted that the whole story was fabricated, is now missing. As in, AWOL. His own attorney has no idea where he is, and neither does the Army.
The third “witness,” named Graber, claims that Girouard told him to commit a “mercy killing,” even though Girouard was inside the building, in the back room at the time that Graber was outside, put his gun under the nose of the third, mortally wounded insurgent, pulled the trigger…and missed. Graber apparently fired again, this time killing the third insurgent. When the medic got back from the vehicle, he saw the man’s brains all over the ground.
The bodies are nowhere to be found, and Graber has full immunity.
The knife that one of the “detainees” used to cut the face of one of the Rangers in the scuffle and escape attempt–which he may have gotten from the Iraqi soldier who was tasked with searching him–is also nowhere to be found.
Perhaps most disturbing is that Girouard has personal knowledge of a friendly fire incident that killed a soldier in his unit. After witnessing this death by friendly fire, Girouard was told by Col. Steele that under no circumstances was Girouard to tell the family the truth about how the soldier died. Somewhere in America at this moment, there is a family who thinks their son was killed by enemy fire–but he was actually killed by his own comrades in an accident.
This case raises questions that cannot be answered by any sane, logical person. Why is the Army looking the other way on a known, admitted pedophile in return for perjured testimony in a murder case? Why did he get promoted after returning from Iraq? Where is the second witness? Why is Graber getting immunity for the only real “premeditated” killing that occurred? Why is Col. Steele retaining Alan Dershowitz as his attorney? Why does HE have immunity? Why is he not out in front of these boys, acting like an officer, instead of behind an attorney acting like a guilty man?
Meanwhile, PFC Corey Clagett was in the stockade at Fort Knox, not getting fed three meals a day, and being kept in the “hole” for transgressions such as covering himself up on his bunk with his issued blanket when ordered not to, or leaning his back against the wall while sitting on his slab in his cell. They told him he could not receive “fan mail,” and even destroyed a piece of mail he received from a non-family member. You can see the men in their shackles while in Iraq here.
Listen to the show…you won’t believe this. If you thought the Pendleton 8 case was disgusting, wait until you hear this.
