"Someone has a vested interest in forcing these men on us as candidates, and it's not conservatives."

Thank you! I couldn't have said it better myself.

I'll give him his due, it is NOT easy to rise to the occasion after a major disaster. Many can do so and some better than others.

And then there's Louisiana. Remember Blanco and Nagin?

I believe Rudy extreme liberal views are enough to disqualify him personally, but add in all the personal baggage and well forgetaboutit.

You said "one of the greatest President's of modern day" -- Reagan immediately came to mind :-)

Ronald Reagan is ALWAYS of mind for me, that's why I added "in real time" my FRiend. ; )

Incest, according to Webster: sexual intercourse between persons so closely related that they are forbidden by law to marry; also : the statutory crime of such a relationship
Marrying a 2nd cousin isn't incest.

I wasn't aware of that. Truly despicable. I can't say I've walked a mile in the man's shoes, but to abandon my poor wife because she becomes crippled...

Of course you weren't. The MSM is always covering for him. He spins what happened by "taking responsibility" for the end of the marriage, attributing it to his "immaturity and bad behavior." That makes it sound like she divorced him. She didn't; he dumped her. From what I have been able to find, she was devastated. Still she has so much class she says only kind things about the jerk. (Well, he is the father of her three children.)

Even if I have to accept a guy like Romney.

I do not have a problem voting for Romney if he is the nominee (although I worry about his electability). I feel he is fundamentally a good and decent man.

And then there's Louisiana.

The Louisiana Purchase has been a thorn in the side of our country since the deal. ; )

Marrying a 2nd cousin isn't incest according to any legal definition or according to Webster's Dictionary : sexual intercourse between persons so closely related that they are forbidden by law to marry; also : the statutory crime of such a relationship.

Honestly, I think the way in which Rudy's was done was worse than Newt's.

God and decent men tend to not fair well with the MSM and the beltway mentality.

Maybe he can make a bumper sticker: "It's not technically incest."

Look, Giuliani is damaged goods. But don't lie about him by rewriting the language. It's dishonest. I thought that was a Democrat's character trait.

Let's just get it over with and nominate Jerry Lee Lewis!

He's too old.

His day's of stomping on piano's and lighting them on fire afterward are gone....

The MSM wouldn't have the time for him anymore.

It's close, but Newt bringing divorce papers for his hospitalized-with-cancer-surgery wife to sign is pretty darn hard to top in terms of sleaziness.

He was with his wife when I met him a few months ago, they seem very happy together...and very normal as well. Are we going to hold past mistakes against candidates forever? There is no one who will pass the test of a totally error-free life and especialy when looked at with such scrutiny and criticism, as well as the exaggeration of haters in the media and even his own party.

I have two female second cousins that I know well. The idea of sex with them is unthinkable, since we played together as little kids. Anyone who is friends with a second cousin of the opposite sex will (like me) be sickened by this.

We're not voting for a saint or a virgin, we're voting for someone who's tough and smart and electable.
