He ran for re-election in the primary, and when he won he quit. Then, when it became clear he had ruined the chance for any other republican to be on the ballot, he refused to come back and run for the seat (which he could have done, and then resigned after the election).

He should have quit before the primary, so that ALL the republicans in his district had a fair opportunity to vote for the person they wanted as their republican representative.

By running in the primary, and then dropping out, he ensured that no republican could be on the ballot, and that whoever the "republican" was would be picked NOT by the people of the district, but by the committees in the backrooms.

And that committee picked a loser of a candidate (not literally, she would have won easily if she had been on the ballot -- she won the special election), but a loser I say based on her actions during the 5 weeks she WAS the representative of the district.

Further, by dropping out after the primary, and then moving and resigning in June, he took away a critical republican vote from the house during the last 5 months of the year.

one day I'm told by GOP faithfulhow stupid I am and that my vote doesn't mean anything...

You should stop worrying so much about what people think about you and continue to think for yourself.

morons and people whose vote didn't count are happy now that they didn't vote or voted third party. They are the ones who put Pelosi in.

That's rich. Obviously the voters that elected to vote and voted for Republican candidates that lost are no better than those that elected to vote for a 3rd party...both are losers, but the Republicans are the ones most bitter. I guess those Republican voters that voted for non-winning Republican candidates are morons also.

So, when does the "100 Hour" clock start. And is it a contiuous run or is it based on a typical"working" day on the Hill? Or is it just another BS empty pledge by NaPo and the dimoCRACKS? Just how is the clock going to run?

Republicans told voters, before and after the election, precisely what they would do.

Oh yes, I remember that Tom.

What ever happened to term limits?

Bailed out on running again...did it too late so his name stayed on the ballot. He should have either stayed in the race or bailed earlier.

Tried to have his cake and eat it too...ended up burning the party in the process.

The dimocrats never had any intention of keeping any of the propaganda statements they made. They NEVER made promises. They puked up their propaganda and Amerikans sucked it down with a straw!!!

Naaah. You get the logic. The third partiers and nonvoters aren't morons for being third partiers and nonvoters. They are third partiers and nonvoters because they are morons.

I'm just having fun. Take it easy.

Follow the link up to where I was answering.

Charges have been brought up and a trial delayed so they could force him out of the House.

If the above is true than could you explain to me how William Jefferson (D-La) who is (was) under a cloud for bribery ($90,000.00 in freezer) is not only still in the House, was reelected AND is in line for a committee chair?

Tom DeLay is a phony. His actions prove it.

If Tom DeLay was such an upstanding Representative, why did he fail to have the Barrett Report released to the American people?

The people who support the Dems don't want the facts to get in the way of their preconceived notions.
