Interesting.Ahmadinejad mentioned a February surprise. The actions of the parliament may hasten his resolve to do whatever he has planned before he loses power.

Ahmedumbass is going to tour South America. Perhaps he's just making the rounds of the various villas and so on used by Eichmann, Mengele, Barbi, and others after they had to flee their country.

Hmm maybe he's the Anti-Christ, and he takes over Iraq and moves to Babylon to rebuild it.

A brave but ultimately hopeless gesture. I fully expect that they will be able to collect enough signatures and hold a trial, but Iranian Senator Al-Arlen Specter will invoke Scottish Law and vote "Not Proven".

Looks like the little mystical hitler is going to have a hard time in the future. Hopefully more Mullahs as well as non sectarians at high levels shall realize this goon and his cronies must be removed, and a large show of hands indicating to the top Mullahs that they can be kicked out by a coop if they continue screwing the country over.
There is no reason why Iran can not once again become a good neighbor and real stabilizer in the mid east, under the right change of heart.
They are not wild ignorant A rabs.

I was going to ask you how long you thought the '38 signatories' would remain above room temperature... but I see someone beat me to it.

When the reformer politicians were swept into power in Iran, in a somewhat free election, back in the late 1990s I think it was, the Guardian Council just removed powers from the presidency that it didn't want the reformist president to have. The reformists were apparently in charge, and yet weren't able to accomplish a number of things desired by their erstwhile supporters, so they didn't show up and the reactionaries retook control.

Not that I'm trying to draw a parallel or anything... ;')

Anyway, the struggle of today is not altogether for today. The reformers are trying to show that they're still making an effort in order to encourage voter turnout at the next scheduled election.

My view is, that election will never take place, or at least, the mullahcracy will arrange it so there are no real opposition candidates left above ground and/or out of prison.

:') If it results in civil war in Iran, so much the better.

...That would be so much better. Let's hope that happens before aj precipitates a war with the REST of the world.
