For example, it would be great if a Sen. Jeff Sessions decided to run. There's a candidacy that could pull together the entire Republican coalition.

Hunter after being elected president, will get assassinated in short order? Yes, it has been a long time baby since a House member got elected president. But you know, there really are not enough data points to make a statistical case, with "significance," about who gets elected, and who does not, based on a specific criterion, assuming the nation in the meantime, remains static, and thus the results can be viewed as having significance in some other era.
Maybe our resident math nerd has an opinion? :)

If Brownback, Hunter, Huckabee, and Trancredo are not on the Republican ticket, what will you do?

I only support prolife conservatives. There are millions of Republicans who take the same stand. Draw your own conclusions.

You know, after seeing that picture of Garfield, I Wikied him. I didn't know he could simultaneously write Latin with one hand and ancient Greek with the other.
What happened to people like this? Instead we're arguing about mental midgets who are insane, morally depraved, or both. /musings

Why not? It's simple: nominate a conservative to lead the conservative party, or count me and my friends out. The Reagan platform is not negotiable.

[Sen. Jeff Sessions]. There's a candidacy that could pull together the entire Republican coalition. Yup, I think that Sessions is someone that would be acceptable to all Freepers. We could all join hands and sing Kumbaya.
Brownback gets nowhere due to his Amnesty vote. Hunter unfortunately has no name recognition and is a mere House member. Sessions is Numero Uno on immigration, and has at least some name recognition.
As a general election candidate the biggest problem would be that Sessions is Southern. Presidential candidates from either Party do better when they come from outside their Party's geographical base.

from the insufferable EV:
There are a number of things I like about Sam Brownback
UNELECTABLE
I highly respect Duncan Hunter
UNELECTABLE
Mike Huckabee is a fine Christian gentleman
EV throwaway. Fairly normal guy, too normal for EV to support.
Tom Tancredo is a hero of the border security movemen
Big friggin' weirdo surprise: UNELECTABLE
EV: Get a JOB. Get a LIFE. A Permanent Address (doesn't need to be a house, just a *real* PLACE) Somewhere your kids would want to visit! It isn't ALL about You!.
To: EternalVigilance
Unlike you, he is an honest liberal. Thanks for proving my point once again.
You're such a small little man you have to insult people to make yourself feel like somebody.
After all, you can spend all day on the internet trying to "best" housewives and retirees. Aren't you the big shot!!!

You are willing to sit out the election and let a democrat win rather than acknowledge that a candidate may be personally pro-life but acknowledge that as long as the law of the land is Roe vs Wade and not changed or modified he would of necessity acknowledge it?

He'd find something to criticize about Christ Himself imo.Well, of course, he would; after all, Jesus wore dresses and hung around with mostly guys!
