You are absolutely right. I also think that conservatives are inclined to stay above the fray. Maybe it has something to do with how many of us were raised; to be respectful, considerate, thoughtful, and non-confrontational.
I might not be making that much of a difference in the overall scheme of things, but I don't want to get to the end of my life and have to say that I turned a blind eye to my freedoms being eroded away, or that I didn't stand up for those who were putting their lives on the line for me.
Even though I was quite young during the Vietnam war, still, I will forever be ashamed that I did not stand up for our military when they were treated so badly upon returning home. I can't change the past, but I will do everything I can now to make sure our military know how much I appreciate and support them.

There are lots of Lafayette conservatives... they're just very quiet and a little underground. There are some incredibly obnoxious leftists - parents and young heads full of mush - there.
Don't need to ask me how I know that.
