Agreed, whether or not the Iraqis can keep the peace in various neighborhoods is the unknown problem. I don't like it not being in our hands, because we have proven we can do the job, but I understand the need of Iraqi control being the benchmark of success.

Some Freepers and other conservatives need to read what President Bush said, not the negativism reported by old media or cynical opposition by politicians.

It speaks well of President Bush that he remains steadfast in fighting terrorism and Islamic fundamentalists around the globe regardless of ignorant criticism.

I keep thinking that as well - I get fed up with the comment of people such as them and Kerry saying it is a women's right to choose but personally it is not something that I agree with or words to that affect - to me it is a cop out and an attempt to be all things to all men.

My own feelings as well is that as much as possible this should be kept out of politics I am more interested in how a politician can improve my safety re WOT and the economy of the country by their fiscal policies. Their views of other issues unless they are on the agenda for the current session of Parliament are their views and should not be majored on I feel in the political spectrum.

I know many in the US will disagree with me and I know because of your system things are different but it does seem to be an issue that is used by both sides in a destructive manner.

I wish that abortion was not as readily available in Britain but at least we have reduced the time limits and if the Conservatives get in next time I am certain they are going to push for even lower limits which in view of medical advancements I believe if we have a majority of Conservatives in the House will get through fairly easily - there will of course be exceptions added to the bill.

Again this is not probably the morally correct ground to favour but being realistic and knowing the opinions of most people in Britain I know that at present is the only way to reduce the number of abortions being carried out at this time. I think an area that does need to be addressed is mothers that automatically insist if their teenage (school age) daughter is to remain at home with them that she has an abortion. This is an attitude that I struggle with but many many women have this view in Britain as they feel to go ahead with the pregnancy will ruin their daughter's life, education and if the child is given up for adoption lead to a life time of wondering where the child is and if they are being treated right. They feel that abortion is preferable many come to this conclusion because of their experience or friend's experience of bad adoption situations. It is a difficult one to discuss with someone who is so adamant in their beliefs

Partial birth abortion is appalling and I am glad it is illegal in Britain.

Very True, Morgan. Drudge is careless these days & buys into MSM's spin.

Congrats anita this is on of the finest nuggets you have done in a long long time.
The piece about Monica revealing names of huge law firms that want to take huge retainers from big name clients and then represent gitmo terror types for free was utterly priceless.
So was the glen beck piece and many others, really enjoyed them this week.

Good Freeping Morning to everyone, let's make this a Jack Bauer kind of butt Kicking thread today. That is such excellent news about Hagel Anita, I wonder what kind of Universe he lives in? He is a 9 on the 1-10 tone deaf scale. Rush and others warn these idiots, but they do not listen, the media only has you (Hagel,Arlen Spincter et al) on because they side with Democrats and against Republicans, and make blood fools of themselves doing it. The DBM knows it divides the Pubbies.

I agree with you snugs. Your comment of "I am more interested in how a politician can improve my safety re WOT and the economy of the country by their fiscal policies. Their views of other issues unless they are on the agenda for the current session of Parliament are their views and should not be majored on I feel in the political spectrum." is what all of us should be concentrating on, not issues less important.

Absolutely it amazes me as someone who posts the day in the life thread twice a week (The Dose) how many people even on this board are not aware of his speeches and his steadfast determination.

It is easy to blame the MSM for this often it is them but it also laziness on behalf of people not bothering to actually read or listen.

The best article by Kristol that I have read. Brit is saying the same things this morning, strenuously.

Morning samantha. Unfortunately, Hagel is going to give more troubles to the Prez. than even the democrats before he finally goes away. But Fortunately, Lieberman could become more helpful in stopping dems. extreme measures.

True. But that just begs the question of why the national GOP keeps supporting people like him? The same can be said for numerous Republicans who have enjoyed national party support in the face of conservative challengers from their state.
