NB Power was my fathers employer for his whole career of 35 years.They are indeed very political, and since they are a "Crown Corporation" controled by the provincial government, they do wax politically from time to time. They should NOT do so, the corporation has a statutory monopoly on power generation for public AND private consumption. Private persons and corporations are not allowed to have their own power generation equipment unless only for emergency backup.

NB Power is also extremely paternalistic. In making this decision, they have smeared themselves in the worst way, but you can bet that at the base of all this, is a phone call between NB Power and some party hacks in NB's Liberal Government, who detest Prime Minister Harper's success on the war in Afghanistan.

What we see is liberal "back lash" against anyone who supports Conservative Prime Minister Harper's Afghanistan policy. The liberals of New Brunswick take anyone's support of the conservative Federal Government's current Afghanistan Policy personal and up close.When they can get in a dig, they do it like a bunch of Liberal Mafiosos, which they are.

I hope that NB Power is keel hauled in the popular press for their unpatriotic actions. It is not possible for anyone to boycott their product, they are the only act in town. But perhaps a few well placed spanners in the works by patriotic Canadians , at a few of their generating plants might show them the unpatriotic errors of their Liberal Mafia ways.
