Mark me down as on Ted Nugent's side. Let the namby-pamby politically-correct bozos whine all they want.

Ted is his own man- more power to him!

And I cant think of anything more Americana than a machine gun and an emblazoned Confedereit flag, or whatever it was.

For heavens sake, are we supposed to shun the Italian flag, or the Mexican flag, or the Japanese flag (three countries which we were once at war).

Of course not, because that was history and those countries and peoples have changed and made amends.

This PC war against the American south, both good and bad, makes me sick, and I'm from Pennsylvania.

"I think it was a horrible choice," GOP strategist Royal Masset said. "I hope nobody approved it."

Here's a pic of "Royal Masset", at least according to google.

How come swishy gay Republicans are OK nowadays, but gun-totin' whiskey-swillin', good-time havin', politically incorrect GOPers are persona non grata?

The Country Clubbers are dragging this party into irrelevance.

I saw him when Janet Reno was running overlord here in Florida and he lampooned her to no end, then he shot her with a flaming arrow. how cool is that?

First, hats off to Uncle Tedley von NugentBurger. I'm not a big fan of his music, but his cool quotient is unbeatable.

Second, are the same people so torqued off over his shirt also protesting the Six Flags amusement park chain? After all, they fly the Confederate flag over their theme parks. Oh, you mean it's a different Confederate flag that people don't recognize? Never mind then...

"Sorry to see he showed a battle flag. A flag that was used to signal the start of a battle to kill American Soldiers."

Soldiers from the Northern States. Do you have an equal problem with the battle flags of the Union Army? Those signaled the start of a battle to kill Americans too.... soldiers from the Southern States.

"I have every right to call that person something other than an American."

Sure you do. Those who actually understand the history involved have the right to laugh at you, too....

Nugent is an aging adolescent seeking attention. Your analysis is dead on....This is more about Nugent and than principle Nugent espouses.

I don't "object" to his performance, but I always found Nugent to be lame and obnoxious, simply because he's a one-note, single issue "guns are kewl" sorta guy. His shtick gets old very quickly. Perry might as well hire a female pop singer who denounces abortionists all day and night.

With Nugent? Demand that he act like an adult when he attends GOP functions. If he is incapable of doing that then don't attend. When he is at a GOP function he not rallying pimple faced adolescents or post pubertal girls.

When they send you an invitation to a black tie event they are serious about attire. Black tie means tuxedo, cummerbund and black tie. It also means behaving in a manner consistent with the occasion. Perry's mistake was not having security escort Nugent off the property for improper dress.

So, if, say, you attained notoriety within American culture, as, say (hypothetical - you might have caught on) a Bank President, your political perspective shouldn't include any inference of events based upon your knowledge of matters monetary?

The Nuge knows, within his perspective of matters. Pop culture (whatever the hell that means now) in particular. He serves our cause extremely well in a balls-out fashion the rest of us active Republicans can only aspire to.

[apologies for ending the sentence in a preposition]

Well I've never heard of civil war era northern flags used in that manner...most people from the north (sans Ted Nugent, who's from Michigan) have figured out the civil war ended 140 years ago and keep those flags in a museum.

But given your hypothetical, if some obnoxious rock star decided to show up dressed in an 1863 union flag, chant slogans, and wave it in people's faces, yes, I bet someone in the audience would complain it was a childish stunt, even if he did it in the north. And if he decided to play "re-start the civil war" in Texas, he'd probably be booed.

Oh and if some northern state decided to go hoist the 1863 union flag over their state capitol to make a "statement" to visiting southern tourists, I don't think people would react very positively either.

...wearing a cutoff T-shirt emblazoned with the Confederate flag...

This is most offensive...

...to those CNN Stalinists who think nothing of wearing red t-shirts displaying a beret-wearing CHE.
