So government corruption is ok, if its our guy? Let's take a closer look at what we have learned from this article:
1) The Governor of the State has a staff whose salaries are paid by the state.
2) Some members of the Governor's Staff also worked on the Governor's campaign.
3) Those members of his staff, that worked on his campaign, received additional compensation for that work.
4) The funds used for that additional compensation came from the Governor's campaign funds.
5) Some campaign donations were made to the Governor by big businesses.
Now, where is the corruption that you speak of?

It all depends on if the two sets of duties were kept apart. Were these aides doing campaign work on public time, or vice-versa? Personally, I think that mixing duties when they can be nearly indistinguisable skirts the line of unethical too closely. There is too much overlap.
When a top aide is speaking to some big donator about policy, which hat is that aide wearing? Especially when the bonus money is coming directly from the donor.
