OK, that's not exactly news.

But watch this video where Churchill, fraud, bigot, and 9/11 apologist... as he explains why we should deny First Amendment rights to people who want to march in a Columbus Day parade. (And keep in mind how often he and his supporters have invoked free speech to justify his own appearances on university campuses.)

So anything which is a denial of human dignity (like celebrating Columbus because he was such a meanie to the Indians) is a violation of international treaties on human rights and thus illegal no matter what the first amendment says? What an idiot. I'm more scared of all the people cheering the village idiot like he was some type of wise philosopher and scholar.

He has not yet been fired. It is still working its way through the bureaucracy. The tenure committee has 30 days to send a recommendation to the president. And guess what! The president has announced he's leaving February 1st. Have no idea what impact this will have.

imho....he is not an idiot. he knows how to hide behind the bill of rights. he does very well as a subversive and would do even better as an administrator of re-education camps. (the u.s. is becoming more and more of a fertile field for
his ideas.)

The vast majority of the people in the audience are students. Many college students are still being financially supported by their parents, immature, ungrateful, lack respect for authority and institutions, and are still acting-out and rebellious. They resemble pathetic, pathetic spoiled children than young adults. They are pitiful. Ward Churchill is the real deal idiot. He is disgusting and repulsive beyond belief and should be condemned and confronted whenever he is in a public forum.

I'm more concerned about the audience of mush heads who applauded Ward's (used his first name to not demean others of the same last name) use of 9th amendment restrictions on first amendment rights. There is something terribly Chavesquen about these people's perverse view of how the Constitution works. The 9th amendment reserves the powers not enumerated in the Constitution to the people; it doesn't place limits on those enumerated powers. This is the kind of left wing think that motivates my right wing involvement!

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

I'm not sure how the 9th applies to this guy.

Every civilization and every generation of every civilization breeds people like this. There are always people raised into wealth and privilege to whom no one ever said "no", and meant it. They develop monumental egos and are among the least deserving of them. They never, as most of us are forced to do, outgrow their infantile preoccupations with their own importance and press their immediate needs for sustenance and approval above the rights of all around them. They have nothing else to offer their society but petulance and scorn. And they become college professors in prodigious numbers.
