"The only difference between them and the Hysteric Left is what they want Big Govt to do FOR them."

Yea, we're all morons here MNJohnie.... we actually expect "big government" to do the one thing they're supposed to do......stop 20+ million from crossing into our Republic.

You're a joke.

If Bush had been doing the job and upholding the oath he swore to the law and the Constitution, I wonder whether the situation would have even gotten to this point. Failure from the top leaves the "boots on the ground" guys to fend for themselves in a lose/lose situation. Troops - and Border Patrol fits into that category - need responsible leadership which Bush has not provided here. I don't happen to think that partisan loyalty should come into play here.

You have NO idea what the real facts of this case are.

Maybe not, but I do have enough reasoning skills to ascertain that needing to grant immunity to someone such as the following --- Their own government granted immunity in exchange for testimony to a Mexican drug runner[the alledged victim] who had a van with more than 700 pounds of marijuana is to me sufficient to produce reasonable doubt.

three of the jurors have already stated they would have voted 'not guilty' if they hadn't been misled by being told that a 'hung jury' was not an option!!

Baloney. Prosecutors make judgements every day about which cases they persue.

Selective enforcement is right.

I probably won't watch the State of the Union speech. I'm starting to get some serious Bush fatigue.

I'm not surprised. Another "blame Bush" moment right here on FR. Poor Ramos, poor Compean. Surely Bush set them up. They were good agents who didn't do anything wrong, they are being railroaded, treated unjustly, the jury surely had to have been paid off (maybe they're drug runners), and damn that prosecutor for doing his job. I bet he's being paid off too. We'll dig up some dirt about all of them, and if we can't find any, we'll just start some rumors. They're all the rage. It's all a hugh and series conspiracy against all of our U.S. Border Agents!! They ought to be able to shoot at anyone, anytime they want. Why the heck do they have to even report it in the first place? I laugh in the face at anyone who tries to surrender. So what if this person may have ended up not being an illegal and/or drug runner. Serves them right for being in the area in the first place. I say, "shoot first, ask questions later"! I think all law enforcement officials should be given the right to do exactly what Ramos and Compean did. Who cares if we lose a few innocents along the way. RAH RAH

If this needs a sarcasm tag, we're all doomed. LOL

I'm sure that they will get a chance to speak, under oath, during the appeal.

"W" should look over his shoulder. 65 members signed on to getting these two pardoned. Bush is being out on his own on this one, and driving a wedge in the party. Funny how he tells others to watch their borders, but he can't tell if the border stops at Mexico, or Guatemala. Or who the bad guy(s) really are in the WOT and WOD. Makes himself look out there on this...

Aren't they available through Pacer for about $6,000 or so for the 3,000 pages?..... Transcripts aren't free but I will bet you that the defense counsel has them along with the prosecution.... and probably others.

Who's asked for a transcript that you know of?

Thanks for the link.

If Bush can pardon convicted drug dealers;
he sure as hell can pardon BP agents doing their job.

I haven't been following this story. Did a jury find these guys guilty of murder and coverup, or did some judge declare it with no jury involved?

There is a lot more to this story than certain folks are reporting.

Unfortunately, the cover up was more serious than the crime. However, I believe a serious reduction in sentence would be appropriate.

And a dismissal of the illegal's suit against America.

"Let see every single "fact" you all know about this case has been told to you by activists groups pushing a certain political agenda."

Oh, the activists who want to control our borders vs the activists who want Open borders? Gee, which ones should I listen to?

Let's sum it up. You will never get a change if you continue to vote in this corrupt "Two-Party Cartel". Virtually all are bought & paid for by the elites. They own the media, they own the judicial system, they shut out any chance for a 3rd party to thrive & they got you all voting for "their" lesser of 2 evils in "their" cartel all the while they all win with these putrid candidates that get pushed to the top.

Why are these two men guilty of doing their job?

I don't think it's part of their job description to shoot a guy in the ass and try to cover it up.

RIGHT, these two Border Agents were loose cannons whose only interest in having their jobs was in the opportunities the job provided in shooting fellow Latinos at the border: see, these guys were really the ones to be feared, and NOT illegals trying to smuggle nearly half a ton of pot across the border. You ought to get your priorities straight, and educate yourself on the details of this case, and also educate yourself on the ongoing agenda of this President and whose side he is REALLY on in this area, and what is REALLY going on. It is very easy for them to conceal what is REALLY going on when they can seize on some helpful details which (they think) will build a case against the Agents on purely technical grounds. THIS CASE WILL NOT DIE.

I have given up on Bush. If he'd governed as a conservative, we'd be in great shape as conservatives within the Republican Party. Instead, he gave us the debacle of November '06. I only hope that there's something left to save after our "time in the desert".
