Ramos, the wife of Border Patrol agent Ignacio Ramos, attended the event[State of the Union address] as a guest of Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif. "What I sat in the gallery and heard tonight," she said, "was a total sell-out of the United States of America to Mexico. I heard President Bush's message loud and clear. All the president has to offer is electronic gadgets. Meanwhile, our borders are wide open to illegal aliens, criminals and drug smugglers. God help the honest men and women of the Border Patrol who want to do their duty. It's a losing battle..."

Lesson: Pardon some drug dealers but not those who put their lives on the line trying to keep them out of the country.

Two wrongs don't make it right. What those two boarder agents did was illegal also, they tried to cover up what they did. WHY? There have been many shootings on boarder and other board agents were cleared.

Bush is a hypocrite, and worse. To let these two rot in prison for defending our borders...

That's why I didn't watch his speech last night. I continue to hate all Democrats, and continue to support the President on the war. But I hate him now, too. For this issue.

I don't care how right he is in his Iraq policy, for him to do the work of the enemy by putting these two defenders in prison... I really can't look at his face right now. (I've stopped watching all TV news and only get my news here.)

It's unforgiveable. What deal did he make with Mexico? What price did he sell us all out for?

As for those who say "why doesn't he pardon them"... wasn't he behind the prosecution in the first place? Isn't the prosecuting attorney a friend of his? This was a set-up. This was a deliberate sacrifice of two good men in order to keep all Border Patrol agents in line.

This is the President of the United States siding with the Mexican government against sworn agents of the US government.

This is as bad as you can imagine, in your worst nightmares. Including the little detail of the perp now suing the US for $5 million.

Dont be a demon-crat tell the whole story? They were jailed cause they lied and the DA caught them in 8 lies. Or that does not count. Then they both threw away the guns they shot the azz-hat with to try to cover up, then they lied to the fbi as well as their own supervisor.

The truth the whole truth and nothing but the full story.

They are felons. Obstruction of Justice is serious. Blaming Bush is juvenile.

I guess I'll be "throwing away my vote", but I'm voting Tancredo in 2008.

I didn't say he personally put him in jail, jerk. Read what I posted. The prosecuting attorney (who made sure that Homeland Security (sic) went across the border to find the smarmy little perp to drag him back to testify against the agents) did the actual dirty work.

Big deal.

When 55 congressmen asked the President for the pardon, why did he refuse to respond? Even refused to say "no"?

Because he's part of the fix. And the fix is in.

If we had real sovereignty, the borders would be secured.
If we had a real war on drugs, these drug runners would be shot for poisoning children.
And to the druggies of FR, some of your money goes to kill Americans, so you can KMA!

"More than 4000 Americans a year die at the hands of illegal aliens,"

Gonna need a source on that.

Shame people who talk border issues cannot even spell border, as is evidenced in later posts. No wonder it is easy to convince you , that those, who are given the responsibility of enforcing our borders, are bad for shooting at drug runners!

Why is it so hard to see that this drug runner was committing an illegal act upon the US?

"The truth the whole truth and nothing but the full story."

Not on FR, not anymore. They shot an unarmed man in the butt as he was trying to flee. LATER, they found drugs in the van. They hid shooting evidence, purposely obstructed the investigation and lied to anybody who would listen.

I only read FR and was on these guys side 100% when I first read this. Well, now I know the facts. I'm not sure what's happened to these supposed "conservatives" who advocate shooting people down in cold blood. Meltdown after the mid-terms I guess.

I agree with you. Everything I knew about this case came from FR and I was outraged as well..That was UNTIL I actually learne the facts of the case. I guess the facts don't matter anymore to some here at FR.

"Why is it so hard to see that this drug runner was committing an illegal act upon the US?"

So we just gun criminals down in the street now? And you do know the drugs were not discovered until after the shooting right? Your arguement must be terribly weak if you have to result to attacking people's typos.

It's a bit disheartening.

This guy was a known drug runner. So the dope was found in his car later. He was still coming across the border illegally and violating US law. Your argument is weak, because you are defending a criminal who is coming into our country illegally. Would you be happy if his bag of dope ended up in the veins or lungs of you child? What is always forgotten here, is that this drug runner was illegal and seeking to profit off of illegal activity within the US. He should have been prosecuted, imprisoned and then deported. Grow up!
