The Lebanese army, struggling to restore order to the streets of the capital after violence Thursday, has imposed a nighttime curfew in Beirut, a military official said.
The official, speaking on customary condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media, told The Associated Press that the curfew would last from 8:30 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday.

Curfew should have been in place long ago.
Here's hoping the Lebanese people stand strong for their elected government and not fall into the grasps and under the spell of those who seek to overthrow it.
Hizbollah and their friends in Tehran thought the Lebanese government would cave. Incidentally, where do the Democrats stand on Lebanon?
According to Fox news, Nasrallah(Hezbo lunatic) has called for 'his people' to 'clear the streets'.
Not sure if this means 'clear the streets' of his enemies or 'clear the streets' and go home. Hope it is the later, still too little too late. Someone needs to put a bullet in his head imho.

BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) - Students for and against the government hurled rocks and furniture at each other Thursday as Lebanon's power struggle turned violent on a university campus and spilled onto nearby streets.
I still fail to see the problem with Sunni extremists and Shite extremists killing each other....LOL
Thanks for the link to the article.
I think I heard a report of 1 dead as well. I'll see if I can dig it up.
Make that 2 dead.

I suspect that the Democrats, as usual, are standing someplace out of harms way. Because the best decisions are always made after the fact.
Democrats don't stand...they run.
Post of the day!
I think I see a tagline in there....
per the Al-Queda manual....connected events.....
Two dead....just so much bloodshed....

There are a couple pretty graphic images I won't post.. Hezbollah and its backers need to be crushed.
meanwhile, all the young lovers in Lebanon who ritualistically meet their dates at 8:31 p.m are really bumming out big time
News reports within the last hour stated that snipers are on rooftops in Beirut; it was not clear whether these were Lebanese Army or Hezbollah or other factions.
Just do what we used to do with typhoons,
meet just before it starts.
As we are seeing in Iraq, what we interpret as anarchy and mayhem, they view as a political process. The major concerns seem to be how your family will be affected in a power shift because family influence is a critical factor in business success etc.
I am listening to news from Lebanon over the internet. The situation is grave and Lebanon is on the brink of a civil war. The Hizballah terrorists and their allies are pushing all the way for a civil war to make Lebanon a terrorist satellite state under the total control of the Syrian and Iranian terrorist regime.
Please keep us posted on this thread.
I shall.
Make that 2 3 dead.

...Lebanon is on the brink of a civil war....
WOW I been seeing the riots on Sky news homepage Kristinn I wonder if Iran try set up Hezollah govt in that country
And the French are right smack in the middle of it with their collective thumbs up their butts.
THE FRENCH
THE French what they teach Lebanon how to surrender ROFL
I really wish the President would tackle the issue of Lebanon and Hezballahs attempt to overthrow the legitimate government there in the same breath as Hezballah. There is no excuse for allowing Hezballah any reign or sphere of influence in that country or any. Especially in light that Hezballah is openly backed, funded, trained, and given orders from Tehran.
This is nothing more than a proxy war that should be a precursor for what will happen to the little midget Ahmadinejad in Iran.
This nonsense has got to end.
