John Kerry's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

John Kerry must be glad to see this week come to an end. He capped off a rough stretch with an astonishingly graceless (in at least two senses) performance while vacationing in Idaho. Kerry staged what was meant as an impressive photo-op by snowshoeing up to a ridge in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, and then snowboarding down.

During Kerry's descent, a Secret Service agent clipped him, causing him to fall. When a reporter asked him about the incident a few moments later, Kerry replied: "I don't fall down. The son of a bitch knocked me over!"

Reporters later said that they had seen Kerry fall six times, even though Kerry was out of sight for part of the descent. Is is possible that Kerry could perform the unthinkable by causing the press corps to root for a Republican?

The "I don't fall down" pronouncement is thought-provoking on its own terms, but even more so when paired with this story from a few days ago. Kerry was in Boston, taking the day off. He left his Beacon Hill mansion to do some shopping, accompanied by his daughter and a seven-car motorcade, including two police cars, three vans containing Secret Service agents, and two carloads of reporters. The shopping trip was coordinated by one of Bill Clinton's advance men.

Kerry first went to a Border's book store, where the reporters took notes as he browsed a pretentious selection of books--like The Fabric of the Cosmos: Space, Time and the Texture of Reality. From the bookstore, Kerry and his caravan continued on to a sporting goods store, where Kerry bought a jockstrap.

I am not making this up. This story has not, to put it mildly, gotten sufficient press. What sort of man, exactly, would lead an entourage of policemen, Secret Service agents and reporters to a sporting goods store to watch him buy a jockstrap? ("Hey, guys, note the size on the box!") The same sort of man, I suppose, who would yell, after falling down six times: "I don't fall down. The son of a bitch knocked me over!"

Kerry certainly knows what a "pariah" is; he is one.

The Pledge will keep running throughout the weekend, its signers continuing to try and get through to Republican Senate leadership with the message that now is the time to refuse to go along to get along with Senate Democrats. Now is the time to support the troops and thus to refuse cloture on the Biden resolution.

Please sign, and then take a look at the full blogroll, and then the state map.  Then make an effort to contact the key GOP senators, starting with Senator McConnell and Senator McCain.

Hat tip

Yeah, we're such an "international pariah" that thousands of immigrants are flocking here every day, legally and illegally.

He was against it or didn't vote. The vote was 92 or 93 to 0.

I suppose the botoxed, eyebrow shaving, orange skinned, funny football playing, girlyman bike riding, French speaking, bad joke making, rich widow screwing, never at work, swift boated, grey pupon sucking, Addams family looking, ugly SOB finally stopped crying long enough to say something else stupid against this country.

The true nuance is when he says it in his native French. Surely, Breitbart's is a Google-type translation. Loses all of the subtlety.

"When we walk away from global warming, Kyoto, when we are irresponsibly slow in moving toward AIDS in Africa, when we don't advance and live up to our own rhetoric and standards, we set a terrible message of duplicity and hypocrisy," Kerry said. "

Lessee,
(1) The Japanese can't even abide by the Kyoto protocol.

(2) Just what the hell does he mean by moving toward AIDS in Africa!?

(3)I will flatly state we are just about the ONLY country on the planet that even tries to live up to our rhetoric and standards especially when compared to the hypocrites in old Europe.

Just show how stupid the voters can be when they keep re-electing this arrogant tratior.

During the Clinton Administration, the Senate, in a 99-0 advisory vote, warned Clinton not to submit the Kyotyo Protocol for Senate ratification. Clinton did not. Kerry was one of the 99. Apparently, not for the first time, Kerry's changed his mind. The Senate believed that Kyoto was unfair and that it would damage the US economy.(Kerry may not have cared about America, but since the USA is and was the engine if the world economy, damage to our economy would have world-wide repercussions, affecting the precious foreigners he holds in such high regard. The Chinese could hardly sell us 130 million dollars a year in manufactured products if we had no money.)
The USA has done more THAN ALL OTHER COUNTRIES COMBINED, to fight AIDS in Africa, a region in which we have no colonial past and no real interests. Only a fanatical America hater could criticize the USA for a poor response on AIDS in Africa, criticism made before an audience of unworthy foreigners from countries that have done virtually NOTHING to fight AIDS in the Third World. Kerry really hates this country. But then we've known that....

TV showed him sitting right next to Khatami (Iran's ex-pres). I'm sure the Iranian regime just loved what Kerry said.

But he voted to make the U.S. an international pariah before he voted against it.
