So how far back does the Free Republic archive articles and how can I go back and find some of the first threads that started the whole thing off ?
It struck me I've hung out for a while and it was well established when I joined.
Be fun to see what we were focused on day one. For me anyway.
I heard about FR sometime in '98, probably found out about it through the Drudge Report. I had a screen name back then - IIRC it was Marne, but I don't remember. Maybe JimRob could look up IP addresses if he cared to. I remember Eschoir and Quidam, as well as Deep in the Huertgen Forest...
Anyway, I was deployed for a year and so didn't post much, but I read FR almost every day. After I came home from Bosnia, I lost my original screenname / password, so I signed up again as Tragically Single (I'd just gotten divorced). Then, after I remarried, I asked JimRob to change my screenname, which he graciously did. So, now I'm Terabitten, and my lovely bride is Terabyte.

Italians OFF. (Thanks for the memory!)
I'll have to leave the country!

I heard it was smoke signals.
This thread has made me thing of many old-time freepers who have dropped out over the years: Mr and Mrs TXChips, TeQuest, LurkerNoMore, and on and on...............
I agree. Also, I am wondering what is the difference between being banned and being locked out? Is one permanent and the other negotiable? Or what!!
Good question.
"Now where's A+Bert? Or Mojo? Or CaL? Or BadJoe? MarathonMan? cornelis? Mike Gallutia? dixie sass? chesty-puller? bigun? JENX?"
I am the poster formerly known as Mojo.

"Back in the day, I used to go to Drudge for news. "
I believe it was sometime around '97 I had a computer at work and not at home, and townhall.com was where I got my news. They had a regular feature of "conservative site of the week" and FR was listed. I have been hooked since. I didn't get a computer at home until 2001 when I retired. Then I stopped lurking and started commenting.
LOL - you may be right. I've forgotten about the Larry Lawrence thing.
I was hoping to get a discussion going about the advent of the spirit with the newly conceived. If science is to err, it should always be on the side of life. To assume that the spirit is not present with the alive unborn merely because there is utilitarian use for their body parts is service to evil.
I think toros is #666. But who's counting.
