Still Waiting
Dakota Voice ^ | 1/29/2007 | Carrie K. Hutchens

I don't know about anyone else, but I am still waiting for Michael Schiavo to make a correction on his blog about what "actually" took place in Colorado when he went there (to the debate) to supposedly ask Congresswoman Musgrave one question and she and her staff supposedly tried to have him removed. He called it, "My unreal night in Colorado - with radio link" (Thu Oct 26, 2006 at 08:05:14 PM PST). I'll say (from what I read) that it was his "unreal night".

As I said before in "Standing up and Admitting a Mistake: Not Schiavo's Style?",  if four uniformed officers were around my seat, I would have some idea of what was going on. I certainly wouldn't be sitting in "duh mode" to only be told later of what took place right there around me, as Michael suggests he was. If Michael's account is realistic -- his response and reaction is not. Nor is his response appropriate now that he has "learned" what he was "allegedly told" is not what took place. One would think if he can't get the words out that he was mistaken, he could at least have removed the inaccurate entry from his blog.

He has done neither.

I'm also still waiting to read about, "Also, maybe tomorrow I'll post about my election-eve rally with Bill Clinton in Florida." (A real election impact by Michael Schiavo, Thu Nov 09, 2006 at 10:40:34 AM PST).  Indeed, I would love to read that story by Michael, since I read it was not possible. Not if he was implying it was the Bill Clinton that is the former President of the United States. Will be interesting to see what he says about that if he ever does.

If Michael couldn't get it straight what happened at the Musgrave debate or even if he spent election-eve with former President Bill Clinton -- do you suppose he might have gotten Terri Schiavo's wishes mixed-up as well? (He does claim to have a bad memory from what I read.) Makes one wonder. At least makes me wonder. Whatever...

I'm still waiting for the corrections if not the explanations!

The liberals, power worshippers all, say empty words about "speaking truth to power." Here are three young, educated, Christian Germans who spoke truth to Hitler and the Nazi regime at the height of its power. They paid for it with their lives. This is the ultimate heroism. We honor it.

Canada, under the new conservative PM, Stephen Harper, seems to be eager to help its disabled citizens instead of killing them. Here are Mr. Harper and two patients with spinal injuries. If Judge Greer had had any human decency, Terri Schiavo -- who suffered a broken back at the hands of a mysterious assailant on 2/25/90 -- might have been treated for her injuries.

>> Still no answer? How could anyone support Mikey without having the answer to this simple question?

I remember when that aging matron stopped by and called us "[censored] nuts." (Even matrons use very bad words at times.) You can't say anything is "nuts" unless you know that reality is different. So what is this reality? I ask and ask, I asked her, I ask her whole clique, and none of them, including the aging matron, can give me one fact. None will give us a theory based on facts. Nothing. Silence.

They are the ones who can't face reality.

I suppose if he pinned her down and made her drink two or three gallons of iced tea....... No. The theory doesn't work.

The medical examiner mentioned iced tea as a possibility, didn't he? That always made me wonder why he did not mention domestic violence as a possibility. A far more likely possibility by the way.

It seems, as far as this medical examiner goes, hearsay talk about iced tea consumption takes precedence over broken bones in an ex-ray report.

Mmm, not as a possible cause of her "collapse," but merely in a discussion of potential sources of her one low blood potassium level. I don't recall that he gave it any credence at all.

Actually, it was Michael who dredged up Terri's alleged iced tea drinking. He was desperate to blame Terri for ending up on the floor nearly dead.

A problem with living wills...

We found that getting copies of living will forms was easy, but getting someone to explain the effect of these forms to us has been quite another story. We called local hospital staff without success. Our lawyer told us that he knew very little about these matters and referred us to our physician, who has been too busy to talk to us at length.

Since my husband is scheduled for major surgery soon, we want to know if you have information that you could send us.

ANSWER: Public interest in "right to die" issues was heightened in 1990 after the United States Supreme Court decision in the Nancy Cruzan case affirmed the right of an individual to make end-of-life decisions in advance of the event through “advance directives.” But rather than setting a national standard, the Court gave flexibility to the states to establish the parameters within which appointed agents are able to make these decisions on behalf of a patient who is unable to express his or her wishes.

Then, prior to her death in 2005, Terri Schiavo captured our attention. Simply put, the health care decision-making process — of which end-of-life planning is a part — involves a number of complex issues that can affect not only the patient but also family members, who are oftentimes unaware that a problem even exists until there are few, if any, options available.

Next Steps: End-of-life planning

More info on Tiller the Killer from wagglebee...

trail of campaign contributions has been documented by the pro-life group Operation Rescue that appears to connect the Wichita late-term abortionist who was accused of criminal charges, the district attorney who sought to have those charges dropped, and the judge who made that decision. Additional documentation appears to show the abortion doctor's campaigning may even have helped the newly elected state Attorney General Paul Morrison.

The other players in the long-running issue include abortionist George Tiller, and Judge Paul Clark, according to the documentation assembled by Operation Rescue.

"It is obvious from the documentation that the people involved with dismissing or not pursuing the Tiller criminal case all have political ties of some kind," Troy Newman, Operation Rescue president, said. "There is a clear appearance of impropriety here that should be investigated.

Would be nice to have a tough "Texas Ranger" on our side. Maybe we do. Thread by NYer. Thanks, narses.

WASHINGTON, February 2, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) – “Instead of killing we say aborting; instead of dissect we say research.” Those words were published last January 22, the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade by none other than martial arts legend and action film star Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris is a Hollywood film star famous for his martial arts films beginning in 1973 with “Return of the Dragon” with Bruce Lee, and especially for his role as Walker in the 1993-2001 hit television series “Walker, Texas Ranger.” Now, the renowned martial arts champion takes on the culture of death as a recommitted Christian in a column at WorldNetDaily.com entitled “The aftermath of legalized abortion.”

Ping to a Jim Robinson thread on the Republican platform vis a vis Pro Life et al.

I've long assumed that the Republican Party platform included pro-life, pro-family and pro 1st and 2nd amendment planks. Is this true or false? Or is the platform amended each election cycle to conform to the positions of the top polling potential presidential nominee (ie, the one with the most money or star billing and the MSM eye)?

Vanity: Questions regarding the Republican Platform, is it pro-life, pro-family?

Notice that the very first of the three important questions you must answer while you have your wits is, do you want to be dehydrated and starved to death? YOU, being of sound mind, would never take that option; so this clause is really about the intentions of lawyers, agents, hospitals... everybody else. Transparently, this is their bump-off-your-grandmother clause. Dehydration is the legal loophole in laws against euthanasia and assisted suicide. The right-to-die movement is writing a murder-by-dehydration clause into all the state laws.

In the name of dignity and mercy, they will inflict hideous, merciless deaths on the helpless. A new holocaust has been launched.

Michael Mobley...

His father took him to China to find help for this young man in similar condition to Terri. They got him stem cell treatment, although the story does not make clear this is not the liberal's choice, embryonic stem cell.

Michael was 14 when he drowned and was resuscitated after becoming intoxicated at a beach party with other teens. His brain had been starved of oxygen from anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes, which caused extensive brain damage.

Since that day in June 2005, he has been in a persistent vegetative state, much like Terry Schiavo was, his father said.

That's what led him to look into stem cell therapy, which he learned about online through a support group for parents of brain-injured children.

In my blog, Getting Elected Blogline, I posted many times on the non-voluntary euthanasia of Terri Schindler Schiavo by the withholding of food and water. In one post, Is The Camel’s Nose in The Tent?, I commented on the slippery slope of first physician-assisted suicide, next voluntary euthanasia and then non-voluntary euthanasia, as in Terri’s case. (You can read about Terri in the blog titled Blogs for Terri.)

Now, the slope, if possible, has become even slipper and has turned, in a horrendous direction - physician-assisted suicide for mentally ill patients.

A Swiss Federal Tribunal court decision added mental illnesses as another reason for physician-assisted suicide, with “safeguards”. The assumption is that the decision for physician-assisted suicide is voluntary.

The court said: “It must be recognized that an incurable, permanent, serious mental disorder can cause similar suffering as a physical (disorder), making life appear unbearable to the patient in the long term.”

>> Like Schiavo, he has a feeding tube because he can swallow nothing, even his own saliva. He can feel all of his extremities but moves none of them voluntarily.

>> Michael's eyes do not track movements or colors and, when his father plays music Michael downloaded before the accident, the boy has no response.

Poor kid is in a lot worse shape than Terri. But for purposes of the experiment, that's good. If Michael Mobley can regain some function with umbilical cord stem cells, it will be happy news indeed.

Meanwhile, I wish reporters could get a few facts straight. Terri could track (within her limited vision) and could swallow her own saliva. She also liked to listen to favorite music (and reacted aversely to music she didn't like).

It must be recognized that lawyers cause more suffering than mental diseases ever did.

So that's where all the Nazi doctors fled to after the war -- across the Swiss border.

Dehydration is the legal loophole in laws against euthanasia and assisted suicide. The right-to-die movement is writing a murder-by-dehydration clause into all the state laws.

And the reason behind this is very simple. The culture of death knows how disgusted moral people became when they learned how Terri was being slowly murdered. Their hope is that we will eventually throw up our hands and say, "this is inhumane, it is better to just kill these people than to starve adn dehydrate them to death, let's just legalize euthanasia."

And this is what we have to watch against, because this is the normal response of many people. I think they have sought to make the alternative seem so macabre that people will start begging for euthanasia.

That is what they are hoping for because they know that that is the normal reaction. It was my first thought until I realized that they wanted us to think this.

Meanwhile, they found the loophole in the laws against assisted suicide and euthanasia, and are pouring through it like an armored division exploiting a gap in enemy lines. All you have to do is make a feeding tube "medical care" and the unconscious patient can then "refuse" it -- with a little bit of helpful lying by lawyers and heirs. Suicide may be illegal and assisted suicide assuredly is illegal -- everywhere but Oregon. But the patient has liberty rights under the penumbra of emanations of Griswold to refuse liquid and food via his feeding tube.

Your agents, lawyers and doctors all stand ready to help put you down by dehydration / starvation. It takes only two weeks or so of hideous torture. Sign up today. We have the forms right here.

Death with dignity, huh?
