Giuliani's... filings don't lend hints to... run - he hasn't... checked the Republican box

WASHINGTON - Republicans looking at Rudolph Giuliani's campaign for president always ask two questions - is he really running, and is he a "real Republican?"

They're probably not going to like the answers found by Newsday in Giuliani's government filings.

The ex-mayor still is holding back from submitting the simple one-page form declaring himself a possible candidate, despite raising $1.4 million to run. And asked what party he belongs to on a different form, Giuliani didn't say - he left the answer blank.

Dear Liz,

"Please, no more wise cracks, sitetest."

I always try to give folks the benefit of the doubt.

The problem is, I was wrong to extend that benefit to him:

"Giuliani's campaign confirmed that leaving off the Republican designation wasn't a typo. It was the campaign's 'judgment that we didn't have to fill in that box,' said a campaign lawyer."

It wasn't an oversight; it was intentional.

Don't ask me why. I don't know.

Newsday isn't credible to make any assumptions whatsoever.

Is what they have pointed out incorrect?

Do you think it's too early?

..fair question

We probably have at least the next 6 to 9 months to work this thing out.

The base of the GOP simply will not support an openly liberal candidate on social issues.

Do not rule out some possible new names to surface in the coming months--it's early, so let's not carve each other up too much...

LOL Maybe Rudy thinks he can switch to Democrat and beat out Hillary for the Dem nomination. Wouldn't be much of a stretch for him to join the Dem party.

Maybe Rudy is just waiting for his endorsements from NARAL, Planned Parenthood, Queer Nation and NAMBLA.

LOL. You forgot the ACLU and the Separation of Church and State goons. Not to forget the NOW fanatics.

During Giuliani's run for the NY Senate against Hillary, a chapter of the National Organization of Women endorsed him over Hillary Clinton. You read that right, in 2000 the Dulles Chapter of NOW endorsed Giuliani over Hillary Clinton.

This Freeper is voting for Rudy for his leadership qualities and abilities....two very important characteristics I haven't seen any other Republican candidates possess....other than their HUGE ego.
