Hillary's Time Machine: Wouldn't Have Started War if She Were Prez in '02

Hillary's Time Machine: Wouldn't Have Started War if She Were Prez in '02 Posted by Mark Finkelstein on February 2, 2007 - 19:13.

Hillary has gone John Kerry one better. The junior senator from Massachusetts of baleful Gallic mien merely voted for the $87 billion . . . before he voted against it.

That's nothing. Hillary Clinton fired up the Time Machine, travelled back to 2002, and assured her fellow Dems that had she been president, the war in Iraq would never have happened.

On this afternoon's Hardball, Chris Matthews played the clip of an angry Hillary saying this today to the winter meeting of the DNC:

"If I had been president in October, 2002, I would not have started this war. I would not!"

View video here.

Good to know! Most excellent adventure, Hillary Dude! And the fact that you voted to authorize President Bush to start the war? No problem! You can fix that on your next time travel.

Thanks. It's funny, I did post it, and then saw the thread was pulled because it had already been posted. Think this is the first time it's happened. As you say, guess I'm slowing down ;-)

Hillary is feared by the media. I hear the secret service have heard her shrill and witnessed her temper tantrums. I do recall that even Bill fears her. So, guess you're right!

this was in the NYT, right?

The Korean War is barely discussed in history social studies classes. It's considered to have ended in a stalemate... the first war America didn't win. I think that view is incorrect.

The allies went to South Korea with the goal of helping it to gain freedom from Communist North Korea, and we succeeded in reaching that goal.

Without the help of their allies, today's South Koreans would most likely be starving and enslaved like the North Koreans are.

"You all know it, so go ahead, say it {but under your breath}."

That's funny. The wife and I were watching her spew her oral bile this afternoon and I blurted out 'that word' preceeded with a few expletives. She's scary, very scary...........Thanks.

She wasn't President in 2002, and she voted to give the President that authority.

Yeah sure, no war after 3000 civilians killed.

That would have left a lot more terrorists alive, emboldened the enemy, and they would have struck again, genius.

Does anyone not believe this to be true? And, that is the problem, nothing would have been done. Except, wholesale lost of rights in the wake of more attacks.

SO.... She WOULD NOT have gone to War??

Are we to conclude that these words were utter bullshiite then???

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program.

He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001.

It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.

Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security."
-- Hillary Clinton, October 10, 2002
