Those are excellent points. Faced with crippling legal bills, the perps may be able to be turned against PETA and used to deal them some serious damage. (I say may because fanatics are unpredictable.)

Why were these animals euthanized? No explanation ever given!
How were they suffering? Were rescue groups contacted?
PETA is a bunch of BS

Bizarre in any case.....Very. I don't think adoptable animals should have been killed by these creeps. They needed jail time in my opinion. They should NEVER be allowed to work with animals again either.

IIRC, these creeps are so whacked-out that they believe owning pets is akin to slavery, so sought to "liberate" these poor creatures through death. And the animals they killed were perfectly adoptable (I guess that was the point).

A jury found two animal-rights workers not guilty Friday of animal cruelty for euthanizing animals they took from shelters, but both were convicted of littering for dumping the carcasses in a trash bin.
If the 'animal rights' nut jobs had their way, any pet-owner would be serving more time for owning an animal.

I'd sure hate to see what this scum considers unethical treatment.
For starters, pet ownership, hunting, fishing, seeing eye dogs, animal testing (even just keeping them in cages), horse & dog racing, being omnivorous.....
In their eyes: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men, dogs, rats, pigs, racoons, ants, horses...... are created equal.

Phenobarbitol and Ketamine, both of which are controlled substances. If you got caught with them, you'd get charged. Somehow he petards evaded even that. As much as I enjoy watching the Birkenstock gang twist in the wind, the prosecution had the smell of politics.

I'm certainly not taking Peta's side, but I wonder if these were animals considered unadoptable. I wonder if they euthanized them with the same stuff vets use vs. gas chamber euthanization which is often used by animal shelters.

but I wonder if these were animals considered unadoptableBesides life threatening sickness no animal is unadoptable. I went to a shelter one time to get a cat that had 'problems'. Her problem? She had irregular bladder control. Sometimes she would urinate in places I would rather she didn't. But I cleaned it up. She lived another 4 years. She finally had to be put to sleep because of a tumor but I loved little Charlie very much while she was with me
I am not a violent person but if I ever Andrew Cook in person he would get a whipping he would never forget.
