(CBS4) COCONUT CREEK Investigators say Kevin Mair, 25, of Plantation walked into his classroom Friday morning at Atlantic Technical Center in Coconut Creek using a cane and wearing the types of headphones used in a gun range.
Surveillance tape was released by the police showing the suspect approaching one person and that person doubling over.
They say he became agitated and displeased about the lack of black history courses being taught. (February is Black History Month.)
The teacher asked Mair to leave and called for staff assistance. Broward school spokesman, Keith Bromery, said the student – who is an adult – was asked to leave his business class after he became extremely “unruly”. That’s when police say Mair attacked the three staffers with a screwdriver: an assistant director and two security guards.
The three were later released from the hospital. Mair was arrested on three charges of aggravated assault.
Now had this been a white person attacking blacks, he'd be facing attempted murder charges.
Everyone who's reading this knows I'm right.

It's also the coldest and shortest month of the year, which further adds to the stigma.
Hey Kevin! You're attending an occupational training school. Black History courses won't do much to help you find a job...

I guess that is one black man that won't be heading back to Plantation anytime soon.

You read my thoughts.....what good does knowing about black history when you are trying to learn how to fix a car or learn to weld?

Why would they offer Black History courses to wannabe auto mechanics, carpenters and plumbers?
So when they become union members, they can use the history of the past to make excuses for the future.
You mean "African American Entertainers History Month".
You're not taught about black people from other countries nor are you taught about black people that made it big in other fields than entertainment.
Mair, who was enrolled in the class, walked into the classroom wearing an ear-protection headset and carrying a cane and a towel, Avello said. The teacher, realizing Mair was acting strangely, cleared the classroom and called security. In the meantime, he listened to Mair's complaints.
Well that worked well -- for the teacher. He didn't get stabbed, but the assistant principal and two security guards did.
Poor guy. An obvious victim of both the system, and dare I say it...the Man.
