True...and one bi-product of the Dems winning in November without having to lay out any plans:

All of the Dems use THEIR pet legislation as the REASON that the American people voted for them.

IOW...I have heard the War, stem cells, the ethics, minimum wage, and all kinds of reasons for why the GOP lost...

Just so the dems can use that to get their legislation passed.

Edwards does not sound like SC he sounds more like Tobacco Road NC, and he does not have a Cultured type of Southern accent which would be more apt to play well in Middle America. No offense to any NC or SC natives (who have charm galore in their accents), when he talks he sounds just the opposite of the way he looks, and any perceived IQ goes down 30 points. He sometimes has a thick accent and other times he sounds pretentious, there seems to be an inconsistency, but that is the norm for Rat candidates except for way out Kucinich types.

I will never forget her nastiness towards Lynne Cheney after the VP debate.

I really like Cornyn and a lot of others but I'm not yet convinced they can win. Still, I plan on keeping an open mind and I'm more than willing to be proven wrong.

thing is .. they were not totally wrong
From what we do know .. some WMD were found .. but not the stock piles that we were told .. or so that's what's been reported so far

What the liberals are doing is completely dismissing any intel that says there is danger ahead

I don't deny some mistakes were made in gathering intel for one reason or the other and that improvements need to be made

my point is .. this is a VERY dangerous the liberals are going down

It leaves our country and others wide open for an attack because many won't believe those in charge

YIKES!

SORRY! Paragraphs sure make for a nicer read...LOL!!

let me try this again....

Well-- in the '06 elections, the Dems went to the red states and recruited "conservatives" to run...yes- Dem conservatives..they are now called the "Blue Dog Democrats."

I am just giving you the facts here, so don't bite my head off-- Webb- as much as I don't like him- is actually more "conservative" than Mr "macaca." (sp)... just look at his record.. he was not really conservative...then he seemed to get a bit enamored with the attention and had to make that dang "macaca" comment... we have all been there...you grow up wishing you were the "popular" one.. the head cheerleader, or star quarterback...then suddenly one day you are at a party or gathering and look up and notice that you seem to have everyone's attention...you get excited, want to savor this moment, so you keep "performing"- trying to make the moment last as long as you can...savoring it....but, alas, you end up doing or saying something stupid.... anyway--

I think NEWT is the Republican answer to the Blue Dog Dems. The Washington political strategists are saying that a "RED/BLUE" race is unwinnable. They also notice that the "grandma" image is working...."I am a grandma, and my service and stands on the issues are about THEIR future. I am here ot fix things not for me, but for them." You can go to Newt's web site and see this.

Newt is talking about right and wrong, not right and left...It is his job to win the hearts and minds of the Conservatives frustrated with the Republicans that have abondoned the Contract with America and the registered Dem voters that think their leadership is too liberal, and of course the anti-Hillary crowd...I he can win their trust, in the end he will say- "(so-and-so) is not MY first choice a President, but for the future of our grandchildren, I will support (so-and-so/RINO/McCain) over Hillary for '08."

This is what bugs me about this strategy-- WHY are folks convinced that Newt can't win? Why do they think that McCain would have a better chance at beating Hillary than Newt? Can someone PLEASE explain this to me? I guess since I live in GA, Newt's home state, I am not aware of how the rest of the country sees Newt.....

I saw a pic of Edwards and his wife when they were young students. Reminded me of the early courtship days of the Clintons, except that the Edwards duo looked grimmer.

Elizabeth Edwards is NOT a nice person IMHO...but she was so overshadowed by Terazzzzzzzah carry...that she wasn't exposed.

Her remarks after that debate were nasty...but, overlooked by the MSM unfortunately.

She'd better not take on Lynn Cheney.

Lynn is tough, smart and articulate.

Lord knows I've been wrong as often as anyone, but I continue to believe a governor or past governor has a better chance of winning.

Agree. I'm willing to let the process play itself out. My vote won't go to a current Senator, at least in the primaries.

I caught the last minute of Hagel on Stephie's show. It was hilarious! GS asked him about Rush calling him "Senator Betrayus". All the good Senator could say was that he's got a right to express his opinion.

Hagel knows he has as much chance of being the Republican nominee as Biden has of being the Democrat nominee. I guess that makes Hagel smarter than Biden...for now.

Please don't hit me for this but:

I would like to see a GOP candidate step up that is like George W. Bush!

I am not just talking about the experience as a Governor.

I am saying that when Pres. Bush speaks passionately, as much as some want to make fun of his inarticulate way of speaking sometimes...he has PASSION, and he gets people fired up...and he shows how much he LOVES this country.

He had optimistic points of view..and doesn't dwell on the negative...he tells us what is POSSIBLE...now what is wrong.

I would LOVE to see someone like THAT pop up.

anyway-- I think NEWT is the Republican answer to the Blue Dog Dems.

Newit doesn't have a chance of winning in the general election ... the blue states haven't forgotten his history and the red states haven't forgotten him getting in bed with Hellary regarding Healthcare

He has too much baggage

No need to worry about biting your head off. What you're saying is the truth.

Allen was a disaster waiting to happen, which it finally did. Like a lot of people, I thought he had the resume. After watching him twice I realized he was not up to the job. He's a follower, not a leader; and he was too willing to bend to pressure as opposed to standing on principle.

Newt said he is in this election to press his ideas, knowing his electability is doubtful. Gingrich is an intelligent man and to be honest, he has a hard time relating to general voters as well as he does to people who are following these issues in more depth or who are political junkies like us. But, that's just my opinion.
