I bought a new 1989 Ford Taurus SHO and have never regretted it. Back then it was the leading edge in four door sedans. Handling was very good, acceleration excellent and with the four wheel discs (Stolen from the Lincoln) braking was excellent as well. The 24 valve 3.0 ltr Yamaha put out 200 ft labs of torque and 220 horsepower, a magnificent motor.
The only thing I wasn't wild about was the notchie shift from 1-2, not a great gearbox. (Mazda made)

I also have a 1965 Ford Custom (Think plain Jane Galaxie) this is a joy as well but for different reasons (A 390 Ci police interceptor helps)
