Should be angering pro-choice people too because this is certainly not allowing anyone a choice.

The problem is that I would prefer doing this to avoid health care cost issues years from now. <<

Great thinking!!...Lets put it to practical use..(Step 1)For the good of us all...I would prefer u commit suicide now to avoid health care cost issues years from now....

In a perfect world, kids would remain virgins, but that's not going to happen.<<<

In a perfect world you would remain healthy forever, but thats not going to happen...Return to Step 1

I'm not familiar with the ACP. Only the AAP.

Why did the ACP stand up? Why aren't those doctors just a part of the AAP? Difference of beliefs?

I don't expect you to necessarily know the answer to these questions. Just curious if anyone knows.

I just joined the Constitution party.

I will still vote in the republican primary as the smaller parties are shut out of the primaries.

I will vote only for the conservative candidates and or conservative platforms.

In the general election I will vote only for conservative candidates and write in a name or leave blank all left wingers.

Nice try but obviously not very effective. If I had a dollar for every nice girl from a good family who had come in pregnant or with VD, I'd be long retired in someplace warm year round.

If I had a dollar for every girl from a bad family or a nice family who did not get pregnant( you do mean out of wedlock or do you consider pregnancy in and of itself a mark of shame?) or did not get VD, I would be far richer than you would ever be.

I can't believe a governor in any state would mandate a vaccine like this, bypassing the legislature and the public. Sounds to me like he's in bed with Merck. Very bad for both the gov and Merck.

You are right, if you are not in a high-risk group for contracting HPV, then you don't need the vaccine. I hate those "one less" commercials on TV, with the young girls talking about the vaccine. I mean, it's like Merck is saying, "Look, these cute and innocent little girls will be having sex soon, so they need to be vaccinated!" Yuck!

Not to mention, should it technically be "one fewer"?

I'm not sure I'm against it if there's an opt-out. I just wonder why they aren't suggesting quarantine for AIDS carriers, too.Isn't that more of a 'public health problem' ?

In a perfect world, kids would remain virgins, but that's not going to happen.

The vaccination gives life long protection. You're not suggesting that kids remain virgins... in perpetuity? If your kids will EVER have sex in their lives, they should probably get the HPV vaccine.

"This vaccine has no long term history, has had only a small clinical trial (2,000 women) and, although approved by the F.D.A., it has not yet been recommended for use by the C.D.C."

Mama Texan

Merk is fleecing Texas ,and may be putting young girls at risk. Most girls will not catch this disease.

It's the parent's responsibility (and the child) not to have sex out of marriage. Having said, the State, has an interest in preventing the spread of HPV.

Just because the girls are getting vaccinated, should not be confused with a license to have sex. If the child believes it is, then the parents have failed.

If I go overseas this spring, I will need a Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B shots for my protection, not so that I can go out and have sex with hookers and do drugs.

I'm not sure I'm against it if there's an opt-out.

If it is so important, then why let people opt their children out? Most parents will get a note from the school saying that their daughter needs a shot and will comply with no questions asked. They usually don't tell you that you can opt out, you have to find that out by yourself.

Q: Why do it by executive order?

A: To avoid public debate and defy the wishes of the people.

At over $300 a shot, and the vaccinations needing to be readministered every 3 or so years, think of the money that Merck stands to make from every female student in the state of Texas.

Actually, that is a very wrong statement.

You can get it if your partner has had other partners and caught the virus. You can get it if your mother passed it to you in child birth.

I am not for making this vaccine mandatory (especially for young girls), but don't make false claims about how to get HPV.
