If only we could make it to where people where it weren't profitable to be a congressman and people only did it for the good of the country we would be in a much better place. The problem is now, we have people who can speak very well elected and no one with ideas on the hill. Because the people with ideas can't beat the speakers, and the speakers don't have any ideas to make money off in private practice.

I suspect we will need to publicly fund elections to break the grip incumbents have on the elected office. Give each level a certain amount (significantly less than what is currently spent by incumbents) and let the best idea win. If you stop and think about it Hilary's millions upon millions war chest just didn't make any sense...who could run against that kind of money. Then we need term limits.
