BIG, I mean BIG U.S. Flags fly over this very blue County in Maryland. The Flags are big enough to warm your heart and sure to give one encouragement after last fall's elections and the current emboldened atmosphere of the leftest.
In my travels for work, I've spotted several Flag locations, but had to wait for a windy day for [Mrs] T to catch some good pics. Unfortunately, on this windy day, 15-20 MPH, the temps were in the low 30s. [Mrs] T's eyes teared up immediately after leaving the warmth of our jeep, but she got the shots.
For some reason, all three Flag locations were are car dealerships. Not sure why.
This first Flag is just north of Montgomery County government's seat in Rockville on MD State Rte. 355. The road runs from Wash. D.C. through Montgomery County to Frederick, Frederick County, and goes by numerous locale road names.
To give some perspective, in the below left pic, there is a 4 lane divided road between the Exxon station and the parking lot the Flag is flying over. The below right pic is from a parking lot next to the intersection of the two roads.
This second pic is at another car dealer about 5 miles north of the first set and about a half mile off MD Rte. 355 on Quince Orchard Road, MD Rte. 124, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
This last set of pics is just off I-270 at Germantown Road, MD Rte. 118, in Germantown. Below left is as viewed from I-270. Below right is from the road leading up to the car dealer. FYI, I-270 is Montgomery County's Tech Corridor as you can see from all the satellite dishes in the background.
Just something neat to look at.

Same reason why they illuminate the sky with searchlights at night....to get attention. I'm not questioning their patriotism, but I'm sure it's for that reason.
Very nice to see, even if it's also an attention-getting device for the car dealerships. Thanks for the pics.
Nothing against these car dealers, most I know of are NOT merely using Old Glory as a landmark and for salesmanship...yet...
As much as I love patriotic songs and seeing displays of our Flag, even more important that people SHOW their actual ALLEGIANCE by how they live their daily lives, not just by flag-waving. Even pirate ships would fly Old Glory until the intended victim was in range--and there are modern analogies.
The Spirit (not just the words and symbolism) of Allegiance.
Let us all be citizens worth living for, in a nation worth dying for.
Nice. Thanks for the ping.
Probably drives the libs in the county nuts, though. Oh, wait, they already are nuts.
it was nice to see the big flag at the Toyota Dealership. All of the things we used to be, they have become.
And you than most know how to show ones Allegiance. Thanks for all you do to spread the Spirit.

Yea, it's a good way to give people directions, but if you are just driving by, you can't see the car dealership or their signs. The flags really towering over the trees from most views.

I'll never forget how I felt at the sight of a HUGE American Flag - as I drove home from work on 9/11.
My local radio station had begun playing the Stars Bangled Banner twice a day - and it would about bring me to tears.
Nice hobby for a conservative couple to participate in together! The biggest flag in this area (Cherry Hill) is also at a car dealership. I kinda pity the poor employees who have to carry them out every day to raise/lower them (unless the flags are illuminated at night I guess). Thanks again for the pictures!
Uphill both ways!!! ;^)
Secret you may already know. When traffic is heavy going North on I-270...just beyond Fr. Hurley Exit16...stay on the right shoulder lane especially after going under Rt.121 overpass at Exit18.Don't chicken out and try to sneak in until there's only an eighth of a mile left before the lane is gone.
You're welcome. ;^)
Just kidding...just kidding.
LOL
Some of those flags have been waving for over a year. But I don't live there anymore.
A local Chevy dealer (Newport News) has been displaying a giant American flag for a couple decades. Some transplants complain, but most like it.
"Not as nuts as the Baltimorons."
Hey, watch it now. Some of the wackiest, leftest nuttery around comes out of Mont. Co. :-)
