There's a little known law in Texas that says after you have been confirmed dead the state takes your corneas whether you like it or not.

That's just so that won't be able to see what else they're taking from you.

I agree, except the law doesn't allow for that. Sweet deal, eh?

Even that wouldn't affect their D voting status! They've been voting sans brains for decades now!

One of the many reasons I chose not to check the "organ donor" spot at my last license renewal. Some liberal is now going to legislate when I am dead.

I predict in the not too distant future, live organ donation will become mandatory.

CLEVELAND -- Prosecutors in Ohio's most populous county said they'll no longer block the local organ bank if it wants to remove organs from people who are not yet brain dead.

That is murder by anyone's definition.

Organ "donation" is almost always a euphamism for "organ harvesting" which is a form of assisted suicide. It is almost NEVER a moral good.

So - time to take "organ donor " off your driver's license.

If Rosie O ever goes to Ohio, I hope for her sake she hasn't signed her organ doner's card...

Dundee, in the movie Crocodile Dundee, sings a little organ transplant song to himself while he's at the Plaza. The audience hardly notices but I heard the words and had to laugh:

"If I gave my heart to you
I'd have none and you'd have two!"

Exactly, did we not get on the Chinese for such a thing. Socialism is such a wonderful thing - we need to harvest more organs - just like the prisons. Hey! What do our leftist pig friends say about harvesting organs from those prisoners on death row? The Chinese are cool with it, then the left should be cool with it as well.

That's exactly what I said, and my friend called me crazy. So did my family. But I don't think they know how much money can be made off of organ harvesting. I feel really bad too because it's not like I'll be using them, and it is selfish of me to say I want to potentially prolong my life by not being a donor, thus denying other people the use of perfectly good organs (well...they may not be at this point, I don't know how lyme disease affects things) but I want to live as long as possible and I don't want to die so someone can make a profit, much less a complete stranger.

I thought embryonic stem cells were going to cure all ills, grow new limbs, repair wounded brains and all that? Why, John Edwards all but challenged Christopher Reeve to stand up on his own hind legs and walk down life's golden pathways.

How DARE they harvest organs from living patients who will be cured by embryonic stem cells?

Here are some links that gave an indication of where we were headed:

Removing the monetary profit factor might diminish the desirability of homicidal acts on an incapacitated, maybe dying person.

Otherwise,  smoke a lot, drink excessively, engage in risky behavior and they won't want your parts. ;)

Maybe their legs, I think they are still using the arm parts...

Ah yes, I should have said quadriplegics. Good catch.
