Thankfully, Idaho is White Castle-free.

I'm in Maryland so the nearest in Ohio or Jersey, so the frozen ones are all I can get. Straight from the freezer, take it out of the plastic bag, wrap in in a paper towel and microwave on high for about 45 seconds. It ain't the same as fresh off the gridle at 3 AM with your mind in an altered state, but it ain't bad.

White Castle Hamburgers

2 lb Lean Ground Beef
1/4 c Dry Minced Onion
1/4 c Hot Water
3 oz Jar Strained Beef Baby Food
2/3 c Clear Beef Broth
1 pk Hot Dog Buns

Soak 1/4 cup dry minced onions in 1/4 cup hot water until soft while you mix 2 pounds ground beef with 3 ounce jar of strained beef baby food and 2/3 cup clear beef broth.
Keep patties uniform using 1/4 cup meat mixture for each patty, flattened to 1/4" and fried quickly in 1 T oil per patty on a hot griddle. Make 3 or 4 holes in patties while frying.
Cut hot dog buns in half. Cut off rounded ends. Fry 1 t onions under each patty as you turn to fry 2nd side.
Slip each patty into bun with 2 dill pickle chips, mustard and catsup.

LOL! Thanks for the recipe. It must be the one my mother tried.

I forgot about the part that requires one to shape hot dog buns. What a hoot!

Yes, it was a "photo op" during the 2004 campaign.

I get em frozen at Sams Club. Not like the greasy ones in Joysie though.

Nope, I live in Alaska, we have candy, but no White Castles.

I *do* take my sweetie out for a nice dinner.

Hey, I grew up in Shively and it was the only place my father would go out to eat. Plus, my future husband took me there for our first New Year's Eve. Then on our wedding night(it was the only thing open at 2AM.

My mother showed me a photo from the net where an entire wedding party was happily sharing the joy of the recent nuptials. The bride, groom, groomsmen and bridesmaids were all dressed in full regalia at White Castle! :)

Of course, if you're too far south, you can take her out to Krystal instead, where each little sandwich has its own little carboard container.

IIRC the "secret" to White Castle is the onions in the ground beef, very thin patties, and the meat is steamed/cooked covered rather than fried or grilled. I'll also add you get a more tender burger with higher fat content meat, such as a regular ground beef or ground chuck. Ground round or other 85 plus percent lean will be too dry and not deliver that greasy burger lol
