CA: If Giuliani is the answer, we're asking the wrong question
OC Register ^ | 2/13/07 | Steven Greenhut

Reports from the state Republican convention this weekend suggest that state GOP members are excited about former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is likely to run for president.

Think about this: The state GOP is becoming the party of liberal Arnold Schwarzenegger, supporter of socialized health care, minimum wage hikes, global warming extremism, debt spending and tax increases. Giuliani is the premiere police-state Republican. This is no longer the party of Reagan.

Is it time for supporters of limited government (remember that idea?) and a humbler foreign policy (to use GW Bush's election words) to jump ship?

"I didn't leave the party, the party left me."

If Giuliani gets the nod (spit!), that phrase may make a comeback in a BIG way.

Pray that he doesn't!

Nope. It isn't time to jump ship.

It's time to promote someone like Duncan Hunter (who also is Californian) or some other solid conservative.

That's what the primaries are all about.

If the moneybags are gonna support Giuliani, McCain, Romney, then the people in the trenches will have to shout the selected conservative's name to victory.

Conservatives in the Repub. Party should have their own caucus to promote their own primary candidate(s).

Maybe it's time to back a conservative for a change and return to its roots, what say ye?

You are correct. It is time for everyone to work like hell to get 'their guy' the nomination. When all is said and done, it will be time to rally around the winner. Whether it is Rudy, Duncan, Mitt, or whoever, I'll be there in Nov '08.

There are loads of Freepers who love Rudy! Very sad. Some of them you'll recognize as conservative, level headed people when reading their remarks on other topics. It is the end of the world when the kool-aid is being drunk by a Freeper! I guess a lot of people are just throwing in the towel.

All except McCain.

I'll not support McCain in primary or general.

If McCain is the nominee, I'll write in Hunter/Tancredo/Gingrich/(even)Giuliani anyway.

All those wishing for president hillary richly deserve it/her. It would serve them right, but pity the country.

It should have been posted in BLOGS.

Just minute ago I told a PRO-Rudy poster who posted a similar item that it should have been posted in BLOGS.

It applies for us and for you too. Sorry if you don't like that.

A vote for Rino Rudy will split the party and bring a at win. It is time to dump the rinos.

All those wishing for President Rudy richly deserve him. It would serve them right, but pity those who believe in the Country as envisioned by it's conservative founders.
