Credit card aimed at illegal immigrants Bank of America’s card for those with no Social Security number, credit
NEW YORK - Bank of America Corp. has begun offering credit cards to customers without Social Security numbers, typically illegal immigrants, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
In recent years, banks across the country have been offering checking accounts and even mortgages to the nation’s fast-growing ranks of undocumented immigrants, most of whom are Hispanic, the paper said, adding these immigrants generally have not been able to get major credit cards.
The new Bank of America card is open to people who lack both a Social Security number and a credit history, as long as they have held a checking account with the bank for three months without an overdraft, the Journal said.
Bank of America tested the program last year at five branches in Los Angeles, and last week expanded it to 51 branches in Los Angeles County, home to the largest concentration of illegal immigrants in the U.S., the Journal said.
The bank hopes to roll out the program nationally later this year, the paper said. A Bank of America spokesman was not immediately available to comment.

If Bank of America is really serious about this, they're going to have to be willing to issue credit cards to American citizens who choose not to reveal their Social Security numbers on their credit card applications. And if the bank refuses, lawsuits should ensue...

If I had a BoA card I'd close my account immediately. There will be illegals who will not even use their real names and addresses (just stay long enough for the card to land in the mailbox) then spend spend spend until BoA catches on, and walk away to do it again using another name. Then the other cardholders in BoA will end up paying the debts thru interest rates etc...
Agreed. One less place for my social security number to be stolen (stolen in some laptop left at the airport).

Correctomundo! I am going to open a checking account and refuse to give them my social security number. I will tell them I am an 'undocumented Viking'. Let em try to turn me down and see how much crap I cause right in the middle of their lobby. I will then see an attorney.
I would hope that many others do exactly what I plan on doing. I don't know how they can issue this stuff without social security numbers when it is REQUIRED for American citizens!

I thought the IRS REQUIRED banks to get proof of your SSN before opening a bank account. I can add this to the many, many reasons I refuse to be a B of A customer.

According to my understanding (and Fox news), you have to have a B of A checking account for three months prior to getting a credit card account. And for that checking account you have to have a SS number and an ID.
And I hope everyone uses the name John Smith with ID #111-11-1111 or no ID at all. This is not funny we taxpayers will get stuck with another bill due to illegals!
I have done my banking with Sandia Laboratories Federal Credit Union for over 20 years. They have treated me very well. Find a good Credit Union in your area and tell B of A to f*ck off!
Big banks and the NWO are not going to let a little thing like illegal citizenship get in their way. I do not have a relationship with BOA and I guess I never will. But unless BOA pays a price in the marketplace, the other big boys are sure to follow.

They must have an SSN for the account, hence all applicants for the credit card that doesn't require an SSN will all be applicants who already have an SSN.

I used to work for Bank of America.... I see they are as stupid as ever. They find great ways to lose money.
Yep, exactly what I did. Cancelled my Juniper and Bank of America cards and switched to my local Credit Union.
BoA bankcard counts on at least 10% of its customers to be delinquent and makes a mint from fees.
I can imagine their collections department having a direct line to ICE.

And we carry only one Credit Card.

I am sure we are not alone, Please let Bank of America know that you are not going to foot the bill for billions of dollars in bad credit card debt because they want to give credit cards to ILLEGAL aliens.

The letter was all: "We are performing a legal service and are not breaking any laws." Yadda, yadda, jive talk. Nowhere do they deny doing what they are doing: providing credit and credit cards to illegal aliens. Nowhere in the spot or in their statement does Bank of America say; "How could we have been so stupid, we hear the outrage of our legal American citizen customers and are going to stop this program immediately."... NO, none of that, just a basic: "Ignore that man pulling those levers behind the curtain, don't leave, we want your business/money" baloney.
Anyway, the FOX News people stated that BOA was losing a lot of customers and that a lot of people (like myself) had stopped using there credit cards, had cut them up/jumped ship and gone with other banks who do NOT give credit cards to ILLEGAL aliens.
The whole point of the news spot and Bank of America/MEXICO's statement was that the boycott is having an immediate effect. BOA/M is feeling it in their bottom line.
I am posting this to let everyone know that the boycott of this bank that supports illegals over law abiding American citizens is working. Keep up the good work!
I closed my savings account and VISA acount with Bank of America last week. I'll go with a bank that respects this country.
