Father of Shooter Believes Someone Told His Son to Kill People (Trolley Square Terror)

The father of Trolley Square shooter Sulejmen Talovic apologizes over and over for the ordeal. Suljo Talovic says no one who knew his son saw this coming, and he believes someone pushed him to do it.

Suljo Talovic doesn't know where his son got the guns or how he learned how to use them.

Suljo Talovic, Father of Shooter: "Somebody got (the guns)…and maybe (they were) training him and tell(ing) him (to), ‘go shoot somebody.'"

Question: So you think that somebody influenced him maybe to do this?

Suljo Talovic: "Yeah. I think somebody."

Talovic says the tragedy is taking a toll on his family.

Repeatedly, in a lengthy interview with KSL Newsradio, Talovic expressed the sentiment that someone trained and pushed his son to kill. He apologizes for the ordeal, saying it makes him feel horrible, like killing himself.

Definitely, the whole thing was inspired by Islamic teachings. But the father may be right: the kid was too young to acquire those weapons legally and doesn't sound as if he hung out with gang-bangers or others who would have had a ready supply. According to official Muslim representatives, the killer had nothing to do with local mosques, but one of the killer's friends, in an unguarded moment, said he regularly went to prayers at something called the Al Noor mosque. So that sounds like a good place to begin.

I read somewhere that he did indeed go to that mosque until January when his father made him stop, as the 18 year old was told to get a full time job. This is the same mosque where the imam fled to Chicago in December, apparantly to avoid abuse charges by his wife. Think this was on Debbie Schlossel's site.

Has it ever been confirmed if he had a computer? Heard that police did not confiscate a computer or cellphone from the house, but it didn't specifically say if there even was one. Hope someone is taking a good look at his co-workers...
