An Open Letter to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi (Charlie Daniels)
Chariles website ^ | 2/16/06 | Charlie Daniels

Posted on 02/17/2007 3:33:51 PM PST by Kimmers

Dear Sir and Madam,

You have said often enough that you don't believe in the war in Iraq and that you want to bring the troops home. Yet all you do is talk and sign non-binding resolutions which only goes to show that you really don't mean what you say about ending the war or that you're just playing political games and in doing so giving aid and comfort to a dedicated enemy.

Now if you're serious about ending the war you have the means and the votes to do just that. Simply cut off the funding for the troops, bring them all home and the American people can transfer the deed to this war and the ramifications of what you do to the Democrat party and you can live with the results.

You say you support the troops, but that has to be a lie. If you supported them and you truly think the war is wrong, you'd bring them home or either dispense with the poisonous rhetoric and get in behind them and help them get the job done.

You can't have it both ways. If you support the troops do something. Your party won a majority in both houses, so you have control so take the responsibility.

Of course, I think you should remember that when the terrorists follow us home from Iraq and start their attacks on American soil it's too late, so you'd better have a plan to deal with it. Do you have a plan?

And if Iran goes into Iraq and makes it a staging ground for Al Qaida to plan and carry out attacks all over the western world you'll need to deal with that. Do you have a plan?

And if Iran decides to go into Kuwait and cut off the oil flow from the Persian Gulf, you'll need a way to make up for the shortfall. Do you have a plan?

The world would look at us as a country that has not finished a commitment to war since 1945. Do you have a plan for dealing with that?

The purpose of this letter is to call your bluff. I don't believe you have the guts to do anything but talk and talk is cheap. Oh you have no shortage of words but I seriously doubt the amount of backbone you have.

Do you really think that signing a non binding resolution is really fooling anybody into thinking you're anything less than career politicians trying to tip the scales of the O08 Presidential Election.

What you're doing is silly and dangerous. If you really don't like what's going on, change it, do something about it. You've got the power but have you got the guts?

Pray for our troops.

What do you think?

God Bless America Charlie Daniels February 16, 2007

Charlie's first paragraph says it so plainly and forcefully, it will zip right over the head of democrap supporters and elected reps. Fact is, those voting for non-binding nonsense need expunging from office for their treachery.

>> "Do you have a plan"

Yes they do, and it's one based on hatred and hatred alone for a sitting wartime President of the United States of America.

They might know it, but I wonder if they like to hear it. All that liberal "speak truth to power" claptrap, they don't want the truth told. Traitors like the shadows, draping themselves in the flag while working to defeat the USA. Supporting the troops to them means keeping them home and un-occupied, so they can defund the "useless military".

We never did find out what his great plan was because he never had one. The democrats never had one and they will never have one. When President Bush asks for constructive ideas he gets nothing but cut and run. Democrats hate the idea of winning in Iraq.

God Bless you, Charlie. All I can say about the Democrats' and RINOs is our ancestors would be ashamed of them. They're cowards who don't have the courage... no they don't have principles, convictions or stands that matter. The sole reason for their opposition to the War is that its now unpopular. But just yesterday they ALL voted for it. I can't think much of craven politicians driven by expedient calculation. Nor do they have a plan to deal with what would ensue if God forbid, they succeed in driving this country to defeat. I could respect them if they did what they thought was right, even if that was a mistake. I would believe they have the country's best interests at heart. By deciding to oppose the commitment of more troops yet funding them, the opponents of this war look like double-faced hypocrites. Which they are. The outcome of the votes in Congress is reflective of our Seinfeld Party whose politics is essentially driven by nothing.

I see. Your wisdom is overwhelming.

You talk big, lets see you do something about it.

Maybe get out your gun and shoot a few liberals? I prefer to do my work with a pen, until I have to act in self defence, but your superior wisdom leads only to one place. Failure through violence.

So your wisdom is only for a select few.

I look forward to seeing your action based on your "wisdom". Likely nil.

If Iran goes into Iraq it won't be Al Qaida we need to worry about. Al Qaida is Sunni; Iran is Shia. If Iran goes into Iraq, the Sunnis will be slaughtered unless Saudi Arabia steps in, which they have already expressed a willingness to do. In that case Saudi Arabia will be going up directly against Iran. It will be a conflagration unimaginable by the idiots for voted for the "support" resolution.

There's a group of states that tried to do just that (secede) about 1865. It didn't turn out so well....

Hey Freepers, are there any recommendations?

I received the following from my brother this morning. I have redacted his name at his request but have his permission to pass this on, as a matter of fact he urged me to "Stand up in church and read it. Stand on the street corner and read it send it to the newspaper editorial page, keep up the fire." Please help me keep up the fire for my brother and all our brave soldiers!
Kalee

Email from my brother who is in theater.

Without question………the vote that occurred in the House of Representatives is being reported. I can only imagine what is being reported on al-Qaeda web sites. It was absolutely unbelievable to hear one congressman suggest that "we have lost." You tell everyone you know that people over here hear these comments. I believe it gives aid and comfort to our enemies. Any young Trooper or Marine that hears this "BS" has to ask himself, "why am I putting my life on the line?" "Why do I want to go patrol outside the Green Zone when my elected officials believe my efforts are futile?" Please tell me that people are outraged.

I want my son to grow up in an America that is similar to the land that I knew growing up. I'm not certain this is possible anymore. Our political process has gotten so vicious between the two parties that the only acceptable compromise is the defeat and destruction of the opposition. Sometimes, I wonder if our political rhetoric has gotten so harsh that it means the destruction of our way of life to accomplish an end that will change our country forever.

I'm convinced that the American people are for the most part unaffected by this war. As a people we have not been asked to truly sacrifice. We've not been asked to pay more at the pump, buy bread every other day or turn out our lights early. We need someone to stand up and tell the American people that we face a ruthless, lethal and determined enemy that is hell bent on the destruction of our way of life. Read UBLs "Messages to the World," he clearly outlines his designs to establish an Islamic caliphate, eliminate the US from the middle east and destroy Israel. He will not compromise. He wants the caliphate to control the world in 100 years. For the life of me, I do not know why our leaders do not talk about this every day.

We can win, I'm just not sure we want to win.

Your loving brother,

They say you can judge how smart a man is by how much he agrees with you. Well Charlie daniels is one smart man , He is saying exactly what I have been saying in these thread for days now and he is right.

This non-binding resolution is just a cowardly way to try to fool the democrat idiots into thinking the people they elected are doing what they voted them in for. The democrats know the crap will hit the fan when we pull out and they havent got the guts to take the rap for it.

They also9 know they cant get elected in 2008 if we win. They are praying and working hard to ensure a loss for this country. The whole pack are traitors in my mind.

Now I am not backing what Chaarlie daniels is saying because he is a celebrity ,but because he is right and we all know it.
