January 1, 2007 - A national coaltion of citizens, including war veterans, distinguished academics, students, journalists, artists, and elected officials have joined with us to call for a nationwide boycott of all consumer activity, for one week in April..
The organizers of the boycott have recognized the fact, that our elected representatives have been unwilling to move forward on the public's overwhelming demands for impeachment and an end to the war in Iraq.
This boycott is a way of unifying the opposition to the Bush Administration; and according to Dr. Peter Phillips, who was the first to propose the idea in December, "could well be the straw that broke the camel's back".
The boycott has been called in response to the statement by the new Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi, that the issue of impeachment was "off the table".
Oh gooooooody!! The stores will be less crowded and probably have great bargains to counter the boycott.

they dont have enough money to buy big ticket items anyhow..screw em..on the upside, this will make it easier for me to get groceries that week without having to deal with smelly hippies and disgruntled conspiracy theorists.
BS. Boycotts are a joke. Nervous Nellies stock up the day/week before the "boycott." So where' the lack of sales? Simple economics and market forces prove boycotts are rarely effective. As for a boycott ruining our economy... that's a bigger joke than Al Gore's global warming scare tactics.

Please explain to me how a boycott like this works, when they're telling people to 'stock up' the weeks ahead? Wouldn't that just even things out?

The one truth of why they will not impeach GW is because they do not want Dick Cheney in the presidents chair, that is the only real true reason, period
This boycott will last right up until the weekly newpaper advert circulars arrive.
Yeah, just think of the havoc it will cause on the economy when all these people without any money stop spending.
