LA Times Publishes Iran Propaganda Claim, Ignores Fauxtography (MSM busted AGAIN)

The Los Angeles Times gives credence to Iran’s bogus claim that the US is behind two recent attacks in Iran: Iran alleges U.S. link to militant attack.

TEHRAN — Bullet cartridges bearing a U.S. insignia and English lettering were among the weaponry seized last week from Sunni militants suspected of killing 11 members of Shiite-dominated Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard, Iranian officials said Sunday.

A photo of the cartridge box, along with an array of other ammunition, was published by Iranian newspapers and news agencies.

Iran did not provide access to the weapons and explosives, drawing skepticism from analysts, and there was no way of evaluating the claims independently. But Tehran is clearly worried that the U.S. is quietly helping Iranian opposition groups foment instability, even while the Bush administration is confronting Iran over its nuclear program and accusing it of arming Shiite militants in Iraq.

The Iranian allegations came a week after U.S. officials laid out what they said was evidence of Iranian-made weapons in Iraq. That evidence also was inconclusive, and Iran denied supplying arms to Iraqi combatants.

I see that the AK has been photoshopped out, but I seriously hope that we are funding this kind of activity.

Forgive me but...

It is the ammo boxe[s] in the second photo that look to have been photoshopped in.

Might be me...but I think so.

You have to go to LGF to get teh full story. I think it was a zoom, and I botched the storyline a bit.

That and the ammo pouche[s] in the upper left hand corner.

That is shoddy work.

The evidence is clearly faked. However I hope we are helping the insurgency.

No, I got the story okay.

But the upper left ammo pouches and the four ammo boxes look to have been photoshopped in.

I'm not sure I see the scandal here. The photo does show US ammo. And certain version were manipulated for reasons I do not understand.

Why photoshop out the AK when the ammo shown is AK ammo?

Yeah after looking a little more, there is a bunch of poor photoshopping going on in the upper left.

Ugh...

Why photoshop out the AK when the ammo shown is AK ammo?

Possibly, the person doing the photostopping couldn't tell the difference.

"The photo does show US ammo."

The photo shows boxes claiming manufacture by a USA company...but those are not the type of boxes that US military ammo is dispersed in.

Why would the US even need to supply AK ammunition?

'Cuz it's so scarce in the Middle East?

I can't believe we are supplying them with highly classified 7.62 bullet technology. What happens if these kinds bullets fall into the hands of terrorists!

What a waste. What's the point of photoshopping the AK out? I didn't see a point of using photoshop on either of these photos.
