More YOUTUBE - McCain On Abortion (UH OH! YouTube Has a Video of Him in 1999)
Nationa Journal and You Tube ^ | 2/20/07

Some wag wanted to make sure that as we, the media, build Sen. John McCain up, we also tear him down.

In that vein, here's a clip of McCain actually saying what that oppo floating around has him saying.

Again, it's one thing to read it, it's another thing to see it and hear it.

BTW: Is this the first YouTube war between different candidates' supporters?

Video Link Here

MCCAIN:

“But we all know, and it's obvious, that if we repeal Roe v. Wade tomorrow, thousands of young American women would be performing illegal and dangerous operations. I want us to be a party of inclusion. I think that we can all be members of the Republican party whether we are pro-choice or pro-life because we share the same goal and that is the elimination of abortion. Because it is an unpleasant and terrible procedure. We think -- I think that we must go back to the party platform of 1980 and '84. We include people who have specific disagreements who share our same goals.”

mccains record over the past 20 some years is consistently pro life !

Except for his position on embryonic stem cell research.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who is running for the Republican presidential nomination, on Thursday while campaigning in Florida said he continues to support human embryonic stem cell research, the Washington Post reports. When asked whether recent advances in nonembryonic stem cell research would change his stance, McCain replied, "I have not changed my position yet" (Milbank, Washington Post, 1/25).

I believe you stated your husband is a Marine. How does he feel about McCain’s stance on closing Guantanamo?

“YouTube is hitting both McCain and Romney today.”

after seeing the McCain video I looked at this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFMdK0TWtks

McCain’s video seemed to cut out right in the middle of a response in a debate, I wish I could hear the beginning of his response so I knew the context.

By the way, areafiftyone was banned earlier this year. Why did you drag out this old thread? Or more importantly, as a newbie, how did you even find it?

Who co-sponsored the bill?

No less than your hero, the one and only John Mc Cain.

The Republican nomination is the closest he will ever get to being elected President.

The main stream media are now wheting their knives in anticipatin of that.

Maybe, maybe not. His longstanding position on ESC research, though, is something that a great many people wouldn't consider 'consistently pro-life' as you described him. (IIRC, he also supports federal funding for the research but I don't have a cite for that.)

"You skipped over the full and unedited version and posted the link to the video that suits what you want to believe ! Here is the full quote made by Senator McCain in 1999. The original video was edited and did not include his position where he said several times that he “favored the ultimate repeal of Roe v. Wade. This is consistent with his statements recently made in Feb. 2007 (less) Added: February 21, 2007"

Some posters are hitting a new low.  They're starting to act like liberal sheep. They believe everything they hear and too lazy to seek the truth.
