On July 6, 2006, Stonebridge International, a global strategy firm, announced that it had added a new member to its high-profile, five-member advisory boardformer Democratic Congressman Lee Hamilton.
True to form, the major media ignored the Hamilton appointment. They should not have. Hamilton, who had served as Vice-Chairman of the 9/11 Commission, had just joined a firm headed by the man who had criminally undermined that very Commission, Stonebridge chairman and founder, Samuel "Sandy" Berger.

The FIM-92 Stinger is a passive surface-to-air missile, shoulder-fired by a single operator, although officially it requires two. The FIM-92B can attack aircraft at a range of up to 15,700 feet (4800 m) and at altitudes between 600 and 12,500 feet (180 and 3800 m) (citation from Wikipedia). Stinger won't bring down a 747

IMHO~~~Qods forces from Iran using one of these would "fit the mold",,,Motive,,,US Navy shooting down the Airbus over the Gulf,,,That wouldn't bring down a 747

Hi,,,A tank of JP-4 vapor ain't got the "BOOM" that a
pound(app) of HE,,,some of the MANPADS on that list will
turn at the last moment to hit the body of the aircraft,,,
burst inside,,,this "over pressure" is what blew the front section off that plane,,,
these later ones don't hit the hot tail-pipe,,,
I'm from/in Louisiana too,,,Ark-La-Tex...;0)

There are many who state, if Flight 800 was a terrorist event, how come no terrorists laid claim to it?
Well, they did. The President at the time, and the media, swept it all under the rug.

Hit it in the tanks (which means about anywhere in the wings or the fuselage between the wings), and I bet it will.

Of course they did! What would you expect from two people who had spent their entire political careers railing at the military and the "military industrial complex"? All of a sudden they would have to eat tons of crow and work with the very people they had treated with contempt. In addition, it would have come out that any intellignece failures which might have allowed the prevention of this or subsequent terrorist attacks were directly the result of the CLintons intentionally crippling intelligence and law enforcement to cover up their own dastardly deeds.
Otherwise, the FBI, the ones who did the clean-up at Waco, would not have hijacked the 'investigation' from the NTSB. From there, it was a foregone conclusion that whatever brought the plane down would be organic to the airframe (if it could not be blamed on 'crazed Right winged extremist' Christians), and not the act of any foreign power or agents thereof.
I'm generally betting Hillary will not be the candidate. Likely Edwards/Obama, but in the meantime, this is a fine opportunity for Bill and Hill to launder tons of illicit cash...fed in as 'contributions'.
Now this is just my wild-eyed, tinfoil-hat speculation, mind you, so don't go looking for sources--"There is no evidence which exists..."

Hit it in the tanks (which means about anywhere in the wings or the fuselage between the wings), and I bet it will. By bringing it down, I meant something able to stop a 747 dead in it's tracs. My understanding is that whatever happened, happened so suddenly and so catastrophically that the cockpit crew was unable to give any verbal indication as to what may have happened.
I have to believe that a MANPAD hit to a fuel tank would not have created enough damage to not even allow a cockpit voice recording of things to the effect of "What the hell was that?". A second is quite a long time.
