Four Maywood firefighters have been relieved of duty, and more could be suspended Wednesday, for refusing to remove American flag decals from their helmets and lockers. The four refused to comply with an order issued last week by Chief Craig Bronaugh to remove all stickers from their helmets and lockers. The four drew the line when it came to the flag decals. ... Adam Rosen said he is “shocked” that an agency of first responders would enforce such an order the week of Sept. 11. The four suspended firefighters said they were told that the order was issued because of...

Critics say a Muslim group picked the wrong day – Sept. 11 - to march on Washington to complain about religious profiling and President Obama’s handling of an investigation into the terror attacks that rocked America 12 years ago. The mass demonstration, called the "Million Muslim March," was changed to a more mainstream-sounding event, "Million American March Against Fear," but the name did not seem to gain much traction and has apparently reverted back to its original title.

The tragic events of 9/11 were immediately followed by a grotesque and shameful fusillade of anti-Americanism, which still resonates today. I had already written my column that day. I still recall, although almost everything else from that morning is wiped from my memory, that the subject of it – this column that no one would ever see – was Tony Blair's upcoming appearance at the TUC conference. On the same day the 9/11 Commission issued its report, another commission issued a report on a threat that could change our world and way of life in ways we can scarcely imagine. It is that time, the day we knew was coming, the date we did not need to mark on our calendars. What happened on that terrible Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, was a tragedy that profoundly affected us all. We stood motionless as we witnessed the unthinkable become reality. We gasped as we saw twin towers crumble, and we cried as we watched grown men weep. And then we gathered together, as communities and as a nation, to seek a collective consolation from those around us - our families, our friends, our colleagues. Theodore Roosevelt wrote that “Death is always, and...

9/11: Why would the Pentagon buy and destroy copies of a book by a former Army intelligence officer? Could it be perhaps because it contained information on how the 9/11 attacks might have been prevented? The impulse to dismiss this as just another conspiracy theory is overwhelming. On the morning of Sept. 11, a small group of dedicated men launched a surprise attack that resulted in the vicious slaughter of men, women and children. The assailants were forced to act, they believed, because their religious community was under siege by the United States government. They perpetrated their murders with the blessing of their leaders and in the name of God, although the religion’s highest authorities would immediately disavow themselves of any connection with the massacre. In its wake, most Americans claimed the faith itself was inherently violent and supported military action against the associates of those who...

Homeland Security: Despite overwhelming support in and out of Congress, legal protection for airline passengers who report suspicious behavior is being blocked by Democratic leaders. Wasn't one 9/11 enough for them? Were it not for the courage and sacrifice of the passengers of United Flight 93 who forced their plane into a Pennsylvania field, many in Congress might not be here today, with a gaping hole where the U.S. Capitol still stands. We wonder if this fact is appreciated by those trying to block final passage of the so-called "John Doe" provision protecting from legal action those who report suspicious...

I learned today that the version of the Department of Homeland Security fashioned by the Obama Administration considers me to be a right-wing extremist, and that my associates and I constitute a greater danger to this country than the Islamofascists who murdered 3000 innocent people on 9/11 and have carried out 13,050 murderous attacks since then, the latest one yesterday. In response to this I wrote the speech that I would give at tomorrow’s Tea Party if I were asked. Here is that speech: I can only say that I am 74 years old and have never attended a political...

Freedom is out of fashion at Ground Zero. Once hailed as a beacon of rebirth in the aftermath of Sept. 11, the Freedom Tower has been stripped of its patriotic name -- which has been swapped out for the more marketable "One World Trade Center," Port Authority officials conceded yesterday. More than seven years after the terror attacks and amid an effort to market the tower to international tenants, sentiment gave way to practicality. "As we market the building we will ensure that the building is presented in the best possible way," said PA Chairman Anthony Coscia. "One World Trade...

It’s going to be a long and difficult four years. It has only been a few days since Obama announced his unbelievably stupid Guantanamo policy, and the first terrorist attack against American facilities has already happened: From LittleGreenFootballs.com January 27, 2009 There was a shooting attack today at a checkpoint near the US embassy in Yemen:
