Any confirmation of the cars in trees?
Heavy rains and high winds moving through Arkansas today caused multiple injuries and property damage in Dumas.
State police spokesman Bill Sadler says the winds cut about a five-mile swath of damage, about a half-mile wide, from a Mad Butcher store on Highway 65 in the south Arkansas town to the intersection of Highway 159.
Sadler had no additional details on the number of people hurt or the nature of the injuries. He said some residents were unaccounted for and police were making a door-to-door search.
A power substation was destroyed and electricity was out in the area.
State police were setting up a command post in the town and seeking additional ambulance service from nearby Lincoln County. Troopers also closed the northbound lane of Highway 65 heading into the city.

Prayes for Desha County and anyone in the path. My wife lived in Desha County as a kid. Anybody in here from McGhee who remembers the town in the early 1960's specificaly the lumber yard and train switch area please FR mail me. I'm trying to find out some info for her about where she lived. She was in McGhee late 50's and off and on attended school there in the 50's & early 60's. There was a boarding house across from the old lumber yard and beside Tibs grocery which is the focal point. In front of the boarding house was the tracks and lumber yeard.. Behind the Boarding house was the Bayou.
It's heading here now for Southaven MS. We have the interior hall closet and will be getting there when it hits.
Those cold winds blew through NM yesterday with wind gusts up to 60 mph, and I was afraid that once it met up with the warm moist air from the Gulf that it would spawn tornadoes.
Thunderstorms sock Bossier City and Shreveport
Severe thunderstorms moved through Shreveport-Bossier City late this morning, knocking down trees, damaging roofs and slightly injuring some people with flying debris. Residential areas in northeast Bossier City caught the brunt of the first band that moved in late this morning.
Thirteen-thousand homes and businesses were reported without power.
A tornado warning was issued early this afternoon in Caddo and DeSoto parishes.
In Carriage Oaks subdivision in far northeast Bossier City, half the roof was blown off one house. Others had lost shingles and numerous trees had limbs had been blown down.
No serious injuries were reported but several people were treated for minor lacerations from flying debris, Police Department spokesman Mark Natale said.
A woman went into labor at a fast-food restaurant and was rushed to the hospital.
Several metal buildings along East Texas Street were were blown over and minor property damage was reported in several other areas of the city, including around Barksdale Air Force Base. Power outages also meant traffic lights were out; police brought in extra officers to help with the situation.
In Shreveport, the doors of a store in Eastgate shopping center were blown off their hinges by high winds.
A suspected tornado also hit the Columbia-Union County line in south Arkansas. There were no specific reports of damage early this afternoon.
Two separate but fast-moving squall lines were moving through the ArkLaTex. The first was moving out of the area around noon but it was being followed by a second, even stronger line was moving into the area early this afternoon.
The storm was moving about 55 mph.
