ARCHBISHOP Luke Orombi has dismissed reports that he considers Islam an enemy religion. "Let me set the record straight; I have no enmity with Muslims. Members of my family are Muslims and for 16 years while working in Nebbi, I had a great relationship with Muslims." Orombi said Friday.
In recent weeks, Archbishop Orombi has been attacked by Muslims for allgedly disparaging their religion. "In my speech, I noted that there were signs around the world of an increasing conflict between Christianity and militant Islam; from the attacks in America on September 11, 2001 to the burning of mosques and churches in northern Nigeria.
This is not a criticism but an observation that even Muslim leaders readily acknowledge," Orombi said in the statement released soon after his return from Tanzania.
On January 31, the US based Baptist press quoted Orombi saying that Militant Islam was the 21st century's key challenge to Christianity.
Maybe it's time for so called Christian leadership to stand up and fight against the butchery of it's third world converts.
