Michael & Them: Filmmakers Chase Moore [Libs Expose Mike Moore Lies]
The New York Times ^ | 2/25/07 | John Anderson

Posted on 02/26/2007 6:34:36 AM PST by Gothmog

Liberals Rick Caine and Debbie Melnyk are disappointed after investigating Michael Moore.

"But according to Mr. Caine, 46, an Ohio-born journalist and cameraman, the freewheeling persona cultivated by Mr. Moore, and the free-thinking rhetoric expounded by his friends and associates were not quite what they encountered when they decided to examine his work. 'As investigative documentarists we always thought we could look at anything we wanted,' Mr. Caine said. 'But when we turned the cameras on one of the leading figures in our own industry, the people we wanted to talk to were like: "What are you doing? Why are you throwing stones at the parade leader?"'"

"In part the 'stuff' amounts to a catalog of alleged errors — both of omission and commission — in Mr. Moore’s films, beginning with his 1989 debut, 'Roger & Me.' That film largely revolved around Mr. Moore’s fruitless attempts to interview Roger Smith, then the chairman of General Motors, after his company closed plants in Mr. Moore’s birthplace, Flint, Mich.: an interview that occurred, Ms. Melnyk and Mr. Caine said, although Mr. Moore left it on the cutting-room floor."

"'I’m still a big proponent of "Roger & Me," especially for its importance in American documentary making,' said John Pierson, the longtime producers’ representative who helped sell the film to Warner Brothers and now teaches at the University of Texas in Austin. 'But it was disheartening to see some of the material in Debbie and Rick’s film. I wouldn’t say I was crushed. I’m too old to be crushed. But my students were.'"

Ms. Melnyk added, “We were very lonely.”

Pretty funny article, not surprising to rational people, though, ha ha ha. Too bad I have to excerpt it.

After all, prior to its release, people expected documentaries to be factual. Now they can be works of fiction (and even win Academy Awards).

So, it's "true but fabricated"?

It was only by talking to people that we found out this other stuff.”

Well, they could have come here. Moore's monstrous failings have been openly discussed. If these folks were unaware of them, they apparently wanted to be unaware of them.

That's typical. Please don't examine our hero's feet of clay. It's better to preserve the myth. If the Left is so damn sure of the rectitude of its actions, why is it so afraid of scrutiny.

Moore is a bishop in the Church of Liberal Mendacity. Believers worship under him. The rest of us laugh at him.

"We'll be hearing the same sort of truth's about Algore's warming hype before long."

The crowd was so polarized at the Oscars, that I don't see how it can be watched by anyone on the right. They've cut us out and spit on us.

I don't know. Hollywood has spoken and Al Gore's Oscar win officially ends the debate on man-caused global warming so the rest of us "creationist, flat-earth, Holocaust deniers and 'stooge' scientists" will have to STFU. The worst part of it is that politicians of all stripes seem to playing along with this "group think" about it.

LOL. I think I read somewhere that after Moore produced Columbine, he had an armed bodyguard. I'm not sure when the great fat one acquired the heat-packing muscle, but the irony and hypocrisy were really rather unbelievable.

For those that haven't seen it, I would HIGHLY recommend Larry Elder's "Michael & Me." It's a pro-2nd Amendment rebuttal to "Bowling for Columbine," and hoists Moore by his own petard...

Apparently he was issued the same facial hair gene as Yassir Arafat - permanent 3-day growth.

Thank you for posting this article. I read the full article on the site.

There was something that struck me while I was reading it. Have you ever noticed that when the right wing brings up questions of authenticity, accuracy, fairness about a left wing book or movie, the mainstream media pretty much ignores our objections out of hand. It is not until fellow liberal travelers bring up the very same questions, then it is listened to by the establishment media.

I noticed this when the fraudulent book "Arming America" came out. Conservatives objected to the books premise, conclusions and methodology. All of which was ignored by the establishment media. It wasn't until the "problems" with the book became so obvious and laughable, that then some left wingers looked into it. And when that happened the establishment press STILL couldn't help but to take a backhanded swipe at the conservatives. I remember a couple of them finally reporting about the scandal, in which they reported that "right wing extremists objected to the book. But then some cooler heads started to look at the book in seriousness..." I'm paraphrasing, but it was pretty close.

I've come to expect this type of crap from the left and their buddies in the establishment press.

Michael did not grow up in Flint with the blue Collar. He grew up in lilly white Davison. I know I grew up 5 miles from him.
