Bush's busy trying to keep the cowardly Congress from surrendering and joining the enemy.
JOINING? They *ARE* the enemy!

Doesn't look like a shipping container. That's not the entrance to Bagram Air Base either.

Now that you mention it, Cheney has been in the news more lately. Taking on Pelosi, going to Australia, surprise visits in Afghanistan and Pakistan. It could be that they're sending in the cavalry, so to speak.

CNN International - Vice President Cheney is now in Kabul, meeting with Afghan President Karzai.
At least one U.S. soldier died in the attack at Bagram Air Base.

This is extremely disturbing.
I might not like Hillary Clinton or Obama, but I sure as hell would not be celebrating if they got hurt or killed.
These are sick, very sick people.

The President is schedule to be visiting South America next month I suspect at present he wishes to keep near the US what with the new Congress and other domestic issues.

One thing that disturbs me in all this is that yesterday (Monday) when it was announced that the visit with the Afghan President had to be postponed due to bad weather there was a report that the meeting might take place on Tuesday.
Normally when high officials visit Afghanistan or Iraq they are not announced ahead IMHO this speculation I do not think it was US press but some spokes person or press in Afghanistan, cannot remember as I read quite a lot of articles yesterday in my preparation for the dose.
All I know that I thought at the time unwise comment and that almost guarantees he will not make the visit on Tuesday, therefore very surprised to switch computer on today and learn this.
I hope there has not been a lose of life because of speculation that the VP would be in Afghanistan today.

Miss that. I thought he was still in SE Asia.

Here is a photo after-wards thankfully he does not looked that stressed maybe a little tired but it has been a long trip crossing several time zones. Certainly this tough schedule should put to rest comments that he is fit enough to be VP.
Vice President Dick Cheney (R) walks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai in the presidential palace in Kabul February 27, 2007
CG do I spy he is wearing his boots !!. Don't you just love the VP boots in a Presidential Palace :o).

Do they see how their Rhetorica against the President and our troops is emboldening our enemies?

I would suspect there's a lot of disinformation going on about this trip. Perhaps they had received a warning that something was up and were trying to confuse the plotters. Obviously, if all the enemy was able to pull off was a suicide bombing outside the base, even though they did manage to get some of the good guys, it wasn't an impressive success for them.
I'll feel better when Cheney gets home.

The DUmmies are some serious wack-jobs. It's unbelievable they now represent the heart and soul of the Democrat Party.
Most at DU would like to be facilitators working hand in hand with the terrorists. I hope ROSIE makes snide comments and "steps in it" on her show today, again revealing her ugly core, that evil witch.
So sad for all those killed in an obviously inept attempt to even get close to the VP. But hey, you got a functional IED, might as well kill some more innocents.
