An internal document shows Mitt Romney's presidential campaign is concerned about his vulnerability to charges of flip-flopping, while suggesting he can differentiate from President Bush with a single word: "intelligence." Is he trying to suggest the president isn't intelligent? If that's the case, then he doesn't need to just lighten up on the Aqua Spray, he needs to stop inhaling.

"The document also outlines plans for positively branding the Republican contender"
Damn, those Republican operatives have no sense of shame. Thank God the Boston Globe is there to expose their diabolic schemes.

McCain is described as a war hero and maverick with a compelling narrative and a reputation for wit, authenticity, and straight talk. But he's also seen as "too Washington," "too close to (Democratic) Left," an "uncertain, erratic, unreliable leader in uncertain times." "Does he fit The Big Chair?" the document asks. Giuliani is called an outside-the-Beltway rock star and truth-teller who earned the nation's trust for his leadership of New York City's response to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. But he is also described as a one-dimensional Lone Ranger whose social views he supports abortion rights and civil unions for gay couples could destroy the "GOP brand."
I think his advisor has this part nailed.

document appears to raise the possibility of Romney speaking at the presidential library of Bush's father, George H.W. Bush. Odd choice of venue?

I just read somewhere that there is a high probability this did not even come from the Romney Camp and that the candidate himself probably never saw the thing.
Apparently there are people who make these things for fun and profit and send them to the Candidates unsolicited.
It will be interesting to find out the origin of this even though it is wholly unimportant.

Clearly there is a problem in the campaign if they don't know that you should never have a 70+ page powerpoint. It's like Clinton's speech at the 1992 DNC convention. No matter what you said, nobody cares and all that is remembered is how much time was wasted.

Just yesterday he said he wasn't concerned about flip-flopping.
I think Romney and Kerry were separated at birth.
